Official 2019 Squad

Yes, but they've already paid GI 500k for the season so he takes up a top 30 spot.

The dogs had a few players in their top 30 last year playing for other clubs because they were paying a big chunk of their contract.

Hmm, GI not on the nrl.com list.

Not particularly fair if he doesn't take up a spot because he doesn't want to play anymore, but someone who gets a career ending injury does.

So an upgrade for Crossland and Fermor, and Randall gets a development spot.
We have heard that Toa has a development spot too, so I assume that isn't a complete list.

should be

Brayden Musgrove
Chris Randall
Jirah Momoisea
Starford To’a
Tex Hoy

It may be that the 6 development player list doesn't have to be finalised today??
And they might leave one spot open in case they need a player of a certain position.
Purely guess work though.

They might still be trying to decide between Kiah Cooper and Mitch Andrews and might base it on today's game.
I'd go Andrews.

Interesting that the article on the Knights site says all the new development players came through the Knights elite programme.
My understanding is that Chris Randall didn't play any juniors for the Knights, and along with guys like Bobby Tracey, Jacob Gagai and a few others I can't remember now, got a reserve grade run after they played in the country championships when they changed it to an under 23s competition for a few years.
I thought that under 23s format really worked to give a few late developers a final chance, but they went back to open age this year.
Jirah Momoisea is another who came to us after a season of under 20s for Melbourne, and only played about a dozen games of under 20s for us before playing reserve grade last year - so we did give him one junior off season I suppose.
On the other hand, I can remember Tex Hoy getting a contract at 13 I think and there were articles saying he was the youngest ever player to get a Knights contract, and he's been a standout in every grade for us, without ever making a rep side, which is odd, because a lot of less talented guys have played for NSW and even Australia.

Tex Hoy and Jirah Momoisea have been extended.
Big week for Tex - played halfback and topped the fantasy points in reserve grade, picked at fullback for NSW under 20s, given a development contract so he can now be considered for firstgrade, contract extended till 2021.

Great news. Hoy has looked good in many positions.
Momoisea has been one of our best young props.
