Would have been a very different story if Jones, Crouch, ESL, Manuleleua etc had played.
Our young forwards were solidly trounced and the backs didn't get much field position to work with.

Got to admit it was a huge ask especially with the late dropouts in 1sts weakening Cup. Still in the running for a top qualifying spot and especially so if we get a few back sooner rather than later

Just too many injuries in the forwards. Far cry from the quality we had earlier in the year. Reads more like a local league forward pack at the moment.

I don't think Hunt could be doing much more to stake his claim for Gagai's jersey next year, he's going well in first grade and seems to have eliminated the dumb errors from his game, and it still wouldn't surprise me if Winter is the starting centre in round one next year. That's how good he's going, and he's getting better every week. Nonu had another strong game, too.

Stats are funny.
Jacob Davis was a late inclusion in the 21 jersey to replace ESL in the second row.
The little hooker made 51 tackles and topped the fantasy points with 50.
Next best was Winter.

Injuries in the top grade are going to bite the forward pack in cup. This was a year full of promise in this grade but I fear this will catch up with them. Still, from a development point of view it has been awesome. ESL a long way down the pecking order but showed he isn't out of place in the top grade last night either.
