NRLW season 2025 comments

Just reading an English women's player has come up with a new sledge that would never work in the men's game.

She was sent off for "decent" for asking the ref "which one are you shagging?"
 
Looking at the ladder - we are 5th, but Sharks in 3rd play the Roosters and Cowboys in 4th play the broncos, so unless those side tank it and rest players, it's very possible we go past both of those sides and finish 3rd. Our for and against only needs to improve by 9 to get past the sharks, so a win to us and a loss to them would have to wipe that out.
 
We are odds on to make the semi's and be smashed by the Roosters in week 1, oh well atleast we make the finals which I didn't see coming tbh.
 
Roosters and Broncos have week 1 off. Assuming no upsets next week, we'd be playing the winner of dragons/titans week 1 at home.
 
Lauititi is an absolute wrecking ball and only 19. Laishon and Paki have been great in this game too, Paki is playing 6.

The Warriors are going to be a very good team in a couple of years. A lot of these girls haven’t even played league before, they’re only going to get better and better.

Broughton coming over should help them a lot and if they can bring a couple more home like Hufanaga, they’ll start matching it with most teams.

We’re playing with house money now. The goals for this season should have read:

1. Reconfigure the team’s identity around a different marquee player.
2. Demonstrate the strength of the program to said marquee player.

The style is very different now, totally dictated by a marquee halfback. The key decision points in attack are always on the first layer. This is seen in how like Penrith so many tries from structured play come from how effectively the defence is compressed before the expansive spread play comes. Our best footy is smart, controlled, professional. Frustrating back end of that game but the essentially perfect first half demonstrates what it should look like. Every other player is complimentary and those who don’t buy in will eventually be moved on or replaced. This is Jesse’s team. Georgia is her Luai. If she goes to Brisbane she’ll be a sidekick again. If she wants to be the lead singer she’ll stay.

Losing the best player in the game, on top of other players, and once again plugging gaps with internally developed players & cheaper experienced girls, and still finishing third, shows the strength of the program. Dominating reggies shows the strength of the program. New rookies who look like long term key players shows the strength of the program. We will get her the players she needs.

Couldn’t have done any more to prove that this is a great environment where she’ll play finals and have a shot at a premiership every year, be a great shot at the Dally M every year. If we win the comp she’s almost unbackable odds at the Karyn Murphy Medal.

I don’t think the club could have done any more to demonstrate to Jesse that she should stay. Ball is in her court now.
 
Looks like the Wahs a going to get a good boost next year. We already know Broughton is one, not sure the other three. Possibly Hale - she fits the rugby league royalty tag.

They might be able to challenge Brisbane and Easts next year. Broughton like Jesse should be a team’s star, not a second banana.

Raecene McGregor maybe going back?
 
In the presser, Karpani, Mercedez and possibly McEwen fit for next week.
I think I'd move Fane to centre and Willison to wing if McEwen is good to go.
Karpani in for Giampino.
Mercedez, Giampino and Simpson all in for the HVN GF.

They’ll definitely be better and should make finals next year. By 27-28 I think they could be the real powerhouse.

Not sure, I hope they get Hufanga. If they can pull across a few rugby players as well, maybe get a year out of Woodman given we almost got her who knows where they could get to. They’re going to have a so many players to pick from in the future.

Unsurprisingly Ron has done a fantastic job with them so far. He was able to get Mikayla Brake just from having a conversation with her at a function.

They’ve got a lot of support behind them from the fans and everyone has really bought into what Ron wants them to do. Really happy for them
 
Simpson’s miss on the little Titans winger was really bad. It’s her only error so far but would have me pretty worried about her coming up against Robinson next week. Hesitant to move Willison to the wing because I think she’s really developing into a classy centre as of late and combining very well with Clydsdale but that’s definitely the most physically capable option, with Finau at centre. You could even have them switching roles in attack at points.

Hard to be critical of Simpson, she’s 19 and playing league for the first time this year. The rest of the team should never have let them down there so much in the last 15 mins.

Willison is fantastic at centre in attack but her defence is poor. She also had a bad miss on hat led to one of their tries as well

Yeah hopefully McEwen is back, she plays right edge, Fane left centre and Willison left wing. Think that’s the only way we to help fix up that edge defensively.

We’ll also need to cut out the errors almost completely and our middles will need to have the games of their lives. Bo needs to be a lot more switched on. She has talent, maybe she’s gun shy with all the injuries but she’s not at the Tigers anymore, she needs to play with a lot more intensity in attack.

Let Sheridan take a few shots at Tamika, at least rough her up a bit of nothing else
 
Channel 9 essentially promoting a Broncos/Roosters Grand Final on the footy show. The Knights and Sharks both won yesterday and they spend 80% of the segment talking about how amazing the Roosters are.

It would be so funny if by some miracle both the Knights and Sharks could cause upsets, completely ruin it for everyone.

I’d pay to see presser of Roosters after choking in yet another semi final and Kelly having a cry about how it’s not fair because their attack is so good
