That was my thoughts exactly, doesn’t change the result either way, but I’m not sure they could be 100% certain she scores that try
 
Hannah Southwell topped the fantasy points by a mile with 66 - plenty of work in attack and defence.
 
Christ I wish we could win easily, sick of stressful wins. haha.

Massive win cause we werent great but Raiders are going to beat a lot of teams this yr. Thought they may have just had an easy win against a Tigers teams that didnt do any tackle training in off season, but they definitely have some talent in the squad.

Knights girls still found ways to get back into game. Higgins and Nita are such a good combo as 9's, really get the team going well when needed.

Attack wise we're still poor, not a lot happening in backline movement. But they back it up by fighting super hard for each other.

Shout out to Lilly-Anne White. Great debut with two huge bomb defuses one leading to a wonderful 60m run for levelling try.
 
The Raiders were great in attack and defence, very impressive. They’ll be gutted.

We weren’t great in either and did plenty of dumb ****. Probably left 4 tries out there.

Difference is they never give up. We’ve played two good teams and won without even playing that well. That’s what winners do.

Important to get off to a good start too given how short the season is.

Keeps them on their toes as well. So they know they’ve still got to keep improving
 
They look like a team that has done a lot of fitness and tackling drills, no attack drill, bar short side raids. Need to work on some attack/sweeping plas.

With a short season - 2 wins against two tough teams is massive.
 
Lilly White didn't position herself well in defence, which is understandable because she isn't a winger, but she did enough to make that position her own.
Waterman didn't get on the field because White was too good to take off.

Yeah I was losing it when Raider scored to go 20-16 in front as I was screaming for Lilly to stay out on her wing. She had plenty of inside players but didn't move quick enough and ball watched. Otherwise she did a great job. Taking those bombs when Temara was kicking very very well is super important. Pretty much won the game from there.

The coach said as much in interview. Concentrated on defence and fitness. Said attack will come

Is she normally quicker?
She seemed to tire really quick but I just assumed she was already really gassed with this being her first game.

I’d imagine won’t be long before she goes the length herself if that happens again
 
Lilly White is like Tamika Upton - very deceptive with her running speed and footwork.
Both of them just seem to glide over the field and past defenders.

Upton is quicker I'm sure, but Lilly is faster than she looks.

Not sure, she's a bit like Upton, odd pace but doesn't look fast, seems to glide through initially though in games i've seen.

Think she was buggered by that point being her first NRLW and slowing down for support.

She didn’t seem to be looking for much support, right at the end there were a few on her left that could have gone over untouched. But anyway, amazing play and a brilliant debut.
