NRLW Recruitment & Retention Thread

NRLW has the A league feel about it. I followed the jets for years but it eventually feels like a transit lounge and you lose interest. At least with football the young guys who move on are trying their luck making it big overseas. In the nrlw it is usually to head to one of the big two.
Jets a running top dog so far! I can't get into the shin kicking but I do get into local teams. I'm cheering them on. They deserve some success. Lessgoooo!

The Jets are excellent to watch with all their young players, but the clincher for them is their dynamic coach Mark Milligan. He has them playing a style of soccer that is exciting to watch.
Maybe youth and a new coach at the Knights might make the same leaps forward.

Yes, I get that. But there is already talk of overseas interest, so I don't want to get too close to any of ths players either. Love to see them win some more silverware this year though.

Pasikala burst onto the scene a few years ago at the Roosters and played for the Kiwi Ferns that year before a couple of quiet/underwhelming seasons at the Raiders. Still only 21 so a fine gamble for a team sorely lacking impactful forwards. With my above team I reckon Kirkpatrick goes back to the #14 role she played last year and Pasikala joins the bench.

Can't find much footage of Betham but she was apparently a gun 7s prospect with an athletics background so going to assume she'll be an outside back. Would be nice if she's good enough to come straight into one of the wing spots.

So Brandy Simpson in Tarsha Gale.
I remember she looked like a very good athlete in Tarsha Gale last year, but also looked like she had no idea what she was doing. She dropped the ball in heavy contact nearly every time and didn't seem to ever be in position in defence.
This year she has come into TG in round 3 and scored 5 tries in 3 games so far - and she played centre really well in one game and wing really well in the other.
She plays the same position as Sheridan Gallagher and I think she's a bit taller but probably not as solid as Sheridan.
3 or 4 more games like the last 3 and we might have to find a spot for her this year.

Indie Bostock has signed with the Titans. Thought she might've ended up at the Broncos so a good result.

Latest Knights update on the Telegraph's NRLW movement tracker:

Rumour mill: There’s an undercurrent of change in the Hunter, with at least one big name premiership-winner eyeing a return in 2027.

Has there been any word about CJ. I know she was trying get out of her Sharks deal but the wouldn’t release her yet. She’s here all the time anyway, surely they can work something out.

Pretty much every club (especially the Knights) have been pretty good about releasing players on compassionate grounds.

What’s the Sharks problem? She has a young baby and all her family is here, think it’s a bit rough to hold here there
