NRL Round 8 - Knights Vs Panthers - 2:00pm Sunday, 26st April - McDonald Jones Stadium

He was there to sign Ponga 🤣.

How did the rubbish media even come up with the Ponga to the Dogs BS?
Ive got it first hand from a Dogs board member and second hand from AOB himself. AOB had everyone at the Bulldogs convinced that he could and would bring KP to the Dogs.

AOB just overestimated his relationship with the player and underestimated the players attachment to the club.

Spot on Slots. Just go back and look at their first try. It's not slick ball movement from Penrith, they're basically not even running shape - there are just huge holes in the defensive line because our blokes are totally gassed.

And that's 14 minutes into the game! I said at the time the game was over - you can't overcome a fatigue deficit like that against a team as clinical as Penrith.

Maybe it's good for viewership to bring more points into the game, but for me, the way the ruck is being refereed and the way that has so hugely increased the speed and pace of play - is making the sport much less enjoyable to watch.
Yes we were gassed but Penrith had so much luck. The first 30 minutes the ball just bounced for Penrith a couple of 50/50 calls went Penrith way as well. I don't think we are to far away from the best, Panthers have years of experience and are just grubs at the game of delaying the other team. Panthers have a great half a decent full back and a machine of a lock that just work well together. Our players coming through are much better than the support crew at most clubs. Still the top four for us.

It was a sell out, think only 1 game wasn’t the whole round , but guessing a few people didn’t turn up or left early and provided the look of emptiness.
Was also looking straight into what looked like a pretty strong sun, so maybe they found another vantage spot.

Just on an unrelated note I really noticed how much Papaali got in our faces after errors. Two questions 1 Has he always been a flog and I haven’t noticed? And 2 Where were our big dogs to stand up to him? I saw one of the young guys shoving him but pack leaders need to step in even if we are getting creamed.

He was humble at Parramatta and the Tigers

Got a bit cocky at Penrith I guess

Yeah I think that goes for a lot of people, especially those on the outside. Everyone’s generally underestimated KP’s attachment to the club and the city.

He and his family have been here for a decade, don’t think that happens if he doesn’t have a strong attachment to the place, especially since they’re not from here

Yes with the Reno's going on we have been moved down stairs , the sun is a killer particularly 2pm game . Does give you a different perspective being so close to the action . It was a long weekend as well , some may have been away !

Yeah I didn't think so when I watched it if I'm honest. Our errors in red zone really cemented penriths first 30 minutes. Even if we did that to say the titans it's probably the same outcome. Maybe just not as many points. I thought they defended quite well until about minute 50 when fatigue really set in.
Yeah moments were really good well patches actually

But the cheap tries and a few of our sets were under 20m gains...

I honestly think the forwards have struggled most games for yardage but we have been scoring points so its kind of unnoticed even in our wins

Not saying I love it, but there’s definitely been times over the years watching the Knights I’ve thought “just concede a try here, it’s not worth spending sets on our own line and getting totally gassed”. Tends to be when we have say an 8 point lead and later in the game, rather than being behind on the scoreboard early in the game, though. But maybe teams need to make that adjustment under Vlandysball, tries are a dime a dozen atm …
Honestly think the same, its better to concede a try out wide early than defend two or three sets of six in a row

It is always the second string players that stroll around like peacocks telling everyone how good they are. While they are carried around the park by the best players in the comp.
