NRL Round 6 - Knights V Tigers - McDonald Jones Stadium - 4:05pm Sunday 13th April

That was so bad I actually don’t know how we fix it. We’re so conservative in attack, but at the same time make simple error after simple error. At this point I think we just need to get away from the conservative game plan. We’re going to drop the ball regardless.

I was really disappointed in the entire team and AOB today.
Taking out 1000 or so Tigers fans . There are 25000 people the agree with you

What a sh*tshow.

Ponga is officially in a massive form slump, and seemingly doesn’t care.
Marzhew was terrible, Sharpe and Gagai not much better. Frizell looking old and lethargic.
Only bright spots are KPPs form and Matt Arthur looks a good prospect

Something is deeply worrying about this team. You wouldn’t want them playing for you in a life or death situation, that’s for sure

I've been a big Marz fan but he has got to be looking at a stint in Reggie's to many errors at the moment which is killing us I'd rather give a young guy a go and let him make the mistake that can offer a bit more

One bit of good news was Tyrone, went better than he had any right to in his 5th? ever game of league. Gets a really quick play the ball.

Speaking of which I want to be as high as everyone else is on Cant but he gets absolutely monstered on every hitup which results in the worlds slowest play the ball. Doesn't help the attack much, but at least he wasn't making errors.

Working in Mildura today and I actually considered driving 12 hours to the game, living in NZ it was a rare opportunity for me. In hindsight im so glad I didn't.
Mate, I can Imagine If It was me that made a drive from Mildura of all places I would have set a stand on fire after the game. 🤣

He needs other dominant players to play off the back of & yeah I think he’s just a makeshift edge.

I'm sorry I'm always going to look for the positives, Leo, KPP and Cant were solid today, with the amount of ball they had the Tigers should have scored 40, Crossland wasn't as bad as some claim, he's got a great boot and can defend...offensively OK plenty of work to do but still superior to Cogs.

PS. IDK why people are so upset with Crossland, Ponga has been missing for 3 weeks, is the captain and is on three times the money...I know he's our best player and therefore our captain but sometimes I'd rather it was Gags behind the goal line ripping into blokes for not doing their jobs.

Devils advocate . Maybe players are jealous & cheezed off with the signing of the 13 mill man ? . We haven't struck a blow since ?

Tyrone isnt up to nrl pace just yet imo, i kept a close eye on him and he was genuinely gassed inside the first 10 minutes (subbed off after 15) and i thought the tempo of the game in the early exchanges was below average from both teams, theres an nrl player there but at this stage id only be carrying him on the bench when we have a full pack available and look to use him 10-15 minutes either side of halftime.

I really Cant (haha) warm to him either. I really want to like him because he’s a junior and his runs are all effort but he’s literally too small to be an NRL forward.

Tyrone needs to stay in the side doing a few minutes and building his stamina then needs another big pre season before he’s up to NRL standard consistently. I’d persist with him though definitely. Heaps of potential there.

Not sure what we do with Marzhew. He needs to go with the errors. Not first grade standard but we’ll miss how much work he does. I don’t think McCarthy is good enough to be picked every week.

Although I thought Ponga was probably the worst today if we’re being honest. Seemed to want to run away from any type of contact.

I think the defence would be a lot worse if player discontent was the problem. The effort is there defensively.

Unfortunately, they’re so scared to make a mistake, they’re playing really timidly which is just compounding the problem. Timidness in attack, and fatigue is resulting in more errors and now they’ve just lost all confidence with the ball.

I don’t know how you get confidence back but I don’t they playing so meekly in attack is the answer.

Exactly. Imagine how much better we'd be if we weren't constantly defending our own errors.

PS. We went through what seemed like a lot of games where Marzhew was solid under the high ball and teams that boomed his wing came up empty, that's gone now. At the very least AOB has to fix the Marz problem next week.
Hastings 7 Crossland 6 sharpe wing

He will probably probably sign elsewhere by the time we get him up to NRL standard.

Typical of our lot.
