NRL Round 3 - Knights Vs Warriors - 3:00pm Saturday, 21st March - McDonald Jones Stadium

And isn't Gamble possibly injured? I guess maybe Crossland to halves, Harrison to start and Cant to spell him.

Hilarious.
Bit in the Herald said Gamble is ok, and he was at least good enough for them to name him in the squad, but Crossland was the one training in the halves yesterday for what that's worth.

With so many outs, it's going to be tough. Would love a win, but will be happy with some fight in the face of adversity.
Yeah I’m thinking at the moment I’ll be fine with a loss if we hold our gloves up and swing back a bit, way to many injuries to key players to expect a good win.

I’ll be hoping for a win but a close loss wouldn’t be bad considering what’s happened

Teams are quite similar to last year's heartbreaking loss... This time we don't have a broken down Hastings, Cogger or AOB though 😄

We need to stop complaining about our outs as a potential excuse for a loss. If we want to be a serious team, we need to develop a next-man up mentality that the top sides have. If anything, the wahs are far more injury hit than us. They are on their third and 4th string halves combo for this game. They also don't have their first choice fullback, center and are missing two of their forward leaders in Capewell and Barnett (though he might play on Saturday). Conversely, we're only missing 3 players (albeit important spine players).

If we lose this, it won't be because we are more injury hit. No excuses.

Great in theory but like it or not it definitely plays a part.

You’re way of thinking there is no difference in pure talent from Dylan Brown to Tyson Gamble, From Sharpe to Crossland…

I’m sorry but injuries do play a factor for as long as skill and talent is apart of the game.

You can keep banging on that drum of “next man up” and “no excuses” but sorry sport isn’t as cut and dry as Person A is out so Person B should he able to bring the exact same talent and attributes, that’s why people talk about needing X factor even former players say this.

Do Broncos win the grand final if instead of Walsh, Haas and Carrigan they just put in three guys from QCup? No because they are better and are naturally more talented

Melbourne the patron saints of Next Man Up had a couple games at the end of last year where they got pretty convincingly beaten & honestly looked pretty bad, and it was simply that they had too many guys out. Everyone absolutely has a point where it’s just too many injuries. Hopefully we’re not there yet.

It is Thursday, two days out from the game. I hope the squad have forgotten about who isn't there this week and are concentrating on who is going to be there. We can win this.

I’m expecting a committed performance and for them to have been prepped well, but I’m not going to torch them if there’s a huge and obvious drop off in the fluency of the attack with Kalyn and Dylan both out.

Yeah the effort will undoubtedly be there. I’m expecting J Saf, Mooney, Croker and Friz to all be up for the battle in the middle and will hold their own.

Obviously Gamble and Smith have never played together and Hunt might’ve had a few games in Cup with Gamble so the attack will obviously suffer. I doubt we win but we will definitely give it a good crack. Weather forecast isn’t flash so that won’t help the attack for either side.

Also having your 3 best attacking players out is absolutely a good excuse for not winning.
