Ponga today: 240 metres (most in the side by 50 odd metres, and only 16 were on kick returns), 48 post contact metres (second only to McEwen), 3 line breaks, 1 try assist, 7 tackle breaks, 100% tackles made, 2 handling errors.

It’s a high yardstick for him, but that’s a long way from a bad game.

A lot of players would kill for those stats on their best day let alone one of their bad days

I thought Crouch looked right at home in nrl now.
Stats almost identical to Frizz.

I agree. On a couple of his carries he showed some subtle footwork at the line which got him on his front for a quick play the ball. Looks reasonably sound in defence for a rookie as well.

What was nice to see was Ponga running the ball through the line again, he likes to engage the line and pass these days which he is incredibly good at but I love seeing him take taking on defenders. I know we have Shapre that will do a lot of the running now days but seeing some of that Vintage Ponga gets the blood pumping
