NRL Round 22 - Panthers V Knights - 2:00pm Sunday 4 August - BlueBet Stadium, Penrith

I know plenty of people on here have said get rid of Ponga & I’m really starting to agree with that. Look, when he’s Brilliant he’s Brilliant but those moments are few & far between. If you look at it honestly, he is very poor value for money. Poor positional play, poor Defense & poor attitude. He really looks disinterested most of the time & he’s not the only one either! I reckon you could buy 2 or 3 decent players for the money he’s on. We need a team that gives their all, 100% of the time, not when they feel like having a go.

Put Ponga at the Storm and he's an immortal.

It's not the player.

We play a very vanilla and predictable brand of footy. Go check the stats for that game, a notable one - offloads.

We pay him too much and don’t have the quality around him unfortunately.

We can’t depend on one player. If Ponga had the cattle around him in the halves he wouldn’t be maligned

Now that was a disappointing performance from Ponga. Next to nothing in attack and just gave up tackling Cleary to give Penrith the winning try.
He didn't have a good game, but I think you're misreading what happened on the Cleary try.

He absorbed the contact, stopped momentum, and had a teammate (Brailey) wrapping the ball up high. He wanted to pass the contact over, and wrap up the legs - because he's the fullback on the try line, and it's much easier to reset your position in the line if you're the low man. That try is 95% on Brailey.

Am I to take this comment as you placing yourself in the former? Because I can't tolerate it.

Speaking sincerely I think club culture is driven largely by the attitude of the fan base. Our passion and loyalty is great for the club in many ways but 'unconditional' support produces exclusively poor outcomes in professional and competitive environments.

If the fans refuse to tolerate mediocre outcomes the club will be forced to remedy it. As it stands, we're keeping the coach, have no CEO and no plan to fundamentally improve the squad into next season and beyond. These things should be intolerable to the fan base. And while we tolerate these things they will persist. I guarantee it.

Agree that Ponga was ordinary, actually compared to his ability he was bad.
Don’t know if he is carrying an injury but looked hesitant a lot of times.
Hopefully his performance was partly due to the change of Crosslands for Hastings, different styles, different speed etc but they had plenty of time to work on it. Thought Crosslands played better than Hastings has of late so he will probably get another chance next week

Lisfranc injuries are a very difficult injury to recover from, Ponga has not been at his best since he has returned from the injury. It’s similar to players when they return from an ACL.
Yep have had a lot of foot issues myself . Feet are notoriously slow to heel . (& painful.

Gamble had two shockers at the end of the game. Poor kick, set restart. Then later the shift left and passed the ball over someone’s head.
Then later herthington high shot.

They played better this game but typical knights performance, errors, poor execution letting us down. Gamble was one the best in the team until he failed to nail the closing moments to even up the game.

Yeah Ponga had an off game. Let’s leave it that. I would assume lisfranc injury effecting his movement atm.

Happy for Crossland to stay at 7. Can we please not have Cogger in the side. He offers nothing.

If we play like today we should beat the Tigers. Gamble needs to quickly move on from his **** ups and focus on what he did well.
