NRL Round 22 - Knights Vs Broncos - 7:35pm Saturday, 1st of August - Suncorp Stadium

Despite all our injuries the season is far from over.

Historically the cutoff mark is 28 competition points for the 8th placed side and we currently sit on 26 with a couple of very winnable games on the run home (We should beat the Gold Coast and hopefully Brisbane, I give us every chance of beating Manly at home on Old Boys Day as well)

Alot relies on how Sharpe and Smith gel as a halves pairing, but I'd even consider Gamble in the halves purely due to the size of his boot.

One thing this Knights side has done this season consistently is overcome expectations and we may yet have a few more surprises to come.

Knights were never going to be the team to make history and win from outside the top 4. We have squandered easy wins in the last few weeks and now with the injuries are facing teams that are running very much hotter than we are. Top 8 is a great move forward from last year, but we were a genuine chance to be chilling comfortably inside the top 4 and accidentally make the final a few weeks ago.
 
I think we finish 6th-8th barring more injuries to key players and will take that considering where we were last year.

We haven't seen a team go from wooden spooners to premiers in a single season since 1934 and don't see that changing anytime soon.

I seem to remember a Saint George team did in the 1970s - the team known as Bath's babe's.

Sharpe and Smith played together in preseason and also earlier in the year when Brown did his MCL. I think two games together as 6 and 7 maybe?

They played together when brown did his MCL earlier this year.

Dylan gets us into our stuff really well & we look a lot more controlled and patient in the attacking 20 when he is the main decision-maker. He'll get more credit for this stuff if we keep winning over the next few years.

I think even with the squandered results, the table is closer than people seem to have realized this season and we probably wouldn't have been comfortable in the top 4. But losses against Souths, Roosters etc probably would've been more affordable.

A slide was predictable to almost everyone, but would have loved for it to be a slide from 2 or 3 down to 5 or 6, instead we're likely to cling onto 7 or 8 unless a load of other results go our way.
 
They threw plenty at the Cowboys who are a notoriously poor defensive side and they handled them well. We play like we did last night and add Ponga we will beat them. Added to that will be their lack of motivation now they can’t make the finals we will beat them soundly.
