NRL Round 20 - Knights Vs Sharks - 6:00pm Friday, 17th of July - Ocean Protect Stadium

The commentator in reserve grade game last week spent all game saying Jones was off contract, pointing out how powerful he is, and saying he'd be a good addition to many teams.
I couldn't help thinking how much bigger and harder running he is than Hola, for double the minutes.

But anyway, Jones has been playing for a contract for the last 3 weeks, and he'll be giving it everything he has when he gets on the field in this game. He's playing for his future - not at the Knights though - somewhere else.

Jones low key going to surprise some people this weekend. Before he got injured and while playing through the middle in 2024 he had bona fide impact. Would've made any 17 in the comp with that form. Brilliant player.

Watch him stand up this weekend. 28 yo at the peak of his powers.
Agree with every word in this. He’s been great in Cup and before his foot injury was a regular in our squad and regularly would make great post contact meters.

Can’t wait to have him back in the squad.

Lots of worry from most re middle forwards, understandable but really only missing JSaf, yes Saulo, Hola and Hopwood also missing but we have them covered with Mooney, Frizell, Crouch and Jones.
Yes Mooney and Frizell our most experienced but of the rest who gets picked if all fit and well, would argue that Hopwood, Crouch and Jones are our next best with a fit Jones currently a better option than Hopwood in his early career, think Crouch is better than Hola and Saulo.
Will be a very interesting game, Mooney and Frizell leading the charge and a experienced Jones along with a emerging strong man in Crouch giving good backup..
Along with that we have a top notch 1-7, Ponga, Young, Gagai, Best, Marzhew, Sharpe and Brown, looking good, expect a strong showing.
Haven’t forgotten Crossland, Lucas, Manu (will be interesting), Croker.
Don’t expect a win but I expect a very strong performance this week and next with more likely wins to follow.
We will miss JSaf, McEwen but these things happen throughout a season

I wonder if this is the hierarchy giving him a shot to get his name back out there. They seemed to do that with Brock Greacen last year.

I think you may have a point

Actually very excited to see the Xfactor coming back this week, I also think he is about to have a great game. We may not win it but I think we will be competitive and that will mean a lot going forward
