NRL Round 20 - Knights Vs Sharks - 6:00pm Friday, 17th of July - Ocean Protect Stadium

I like Manu. There’s a player there. When McEwen comes back I would leave him in the 17 and drop Cant. I’m not a Cant hater I just think Manu has a bit oF X-factor about him (like Jones!).

I’m on the side we played well that game and were unlucky to lose. Ponga slots two more goals, and better ref calls we win. The Sharks line speed in parts of that second half was ridiculous. We held up defensively, rain probably madd it more difficult to play our more attacking style.

Looking for positives, I thought the effort was committed especially in Def.

Crossland chalked up his regulation 50 tackles, Lucas was quite brutal in contact and topped our fantasy points and Marzhew carried us in yardage.

Ponga provided his usually attacking threats and I thought he really rallied the D line in the Sharks good ball sets. This is an area of his game he seems to have really improved. He stands shallow and ushers the boys around like a field commander, urging the line speed and then plugs into gaps when the markers or A defenders are blown.

4 tries to 3 in a slippery night game at Shark Park is a fair improvement on where we have been, but I can understand the disappointment with the result.

The officiating..................well I won't even go there.

I've been watching the Sharks first try over and over again and I am gobsmacked as to how it wasn't called back for foul play of Young. It was such a clear obstruction, if Ronaldo does not clatter him while he's going up for the ball then he takes it comfortably.
We’ve somehow gone from “going up for the ball with one arm is a penalty even if you don’t touch the catcher because it might put them off somewhat” to “blatantly knocking the catcher off the ball is fine”. This sport is run by muppets.

We were lucky it wasn’t a penalty try. Dom clearly impedes Ronaldo.

/s. (Just in case it wasn’t clear).
