NRL Round 19 - Knights Vs Storm - 3:00pm Saturday 12th July - McDonald Jones Stadium

We were definitely competitive and played some good footy throughout the game, shame we just aren't able to do it for most of a game. Dom scoring ridiculous tries is awesome to see 😀 Hastings will probably be dropped right?

Looking forward to playing Rugby League 26 on PS5 next week and play as the Knights and put 50 on sides.

Make sure you sign db for 1.3 in your career mode for realism 😅. Im hanging for game but im disappinted with what ive seen so far + itl be hot dog**** on release day just like all bigants games.

Love the optimism, but look at the history. The guy can't coach. He was an assistant who should've stayed an assistant. He told everyone that we are an ugly team, and recently told all the great Newcastle Knights supporters, they don't know footy. Look at recent players who have left yhe Kni g hts only to start playing good footy. Sorry mate, but I don't think you'll find many that agree with your thoughts. The blokes useless s an NRL Head coach. Completely clueless. Have you been Comatose for 6 years?
Warbs, glad you like the optimism. He came here with nothing and had a nothing team with a good half-back in Pearce but they let the half-back go. That left us with Ponga who is not built to play the top league to often. That left no one with any ability. We got a hooker we signed a few over rated players for the halves. No one has left the Knights who was coached by O'Brien improved their game. As far as telling fans they don't know footy. O'Brien said the people who were booing don't know footy. Considering the players leaving the field didn't hear the booing, O'Brien was set up. Plenty of people agree that O'Brien is the best man for the job at this stage. We just need the cattle to make it happen, and letting go of the over paid flopps we have been buying for years. To coach a team and make them have the enthusiasm the Knights have now is a big improvement. If the Knights were getting flogged I might agree with you but they are holding their own and have been the final pass away in 6 games they lost. A good half will open a lot of doors. If we had some great attacking players we would be higher up the ladder. Well I live in hope.

Thats better than the zero minutes theyve played most of the year. All good mate you do you, but im happier than most weeks this year.
I’d be happy if they were competitive for the 80 mins. Just after half time and they were gassed. I do think that comes down to AOBs bench rotation.

I thought you were implying the refs have cost the Knights this game and there was nothing they could do about it.

The Knights cost themselves this game. The Storm got a few calls but it didn’t win them the game
As is often the case it’s the non-calls which were most egregious. They got away with whatever they want during the 60 mins when the game was in the balance, then come the late game square up penalties once it doesn’t matter anymore. So how can we complain? The count was about even!

I think if you look over my posts on here I’m not usually a ref’s faulter, but today was pretty egregious I thought. We’re now 0-5 under Todd Smith and included among those games are two of the other worst officiated games I can remember, the final vs the Cowboys last year & round 1 vs Canberra the same season. Games where NOTHING the other mob did in the ruck was a penalty for some reason but we copped it if we breathed on them too hard. The same pattern of perfectly timed penalties to give the other mob a solid 20 minute period of 80% possession too.

It’s definitely a thing where certain refs seem to have an interesting relationship with certain clubs. Ask a Souths fan how they feel about Grant Atkins sometime and then ask a Penrith fan. There’ll be some discrepancy there.
