NRL Round 19 - Knights Vs Rabbitohs - 2:00pm Sunday, 12th of July - Accor Stadium

Kinda need this win (I know I said that last week; still true though).

We're still not actually locked into finishing top 8; if it turns out it's 13 wins this season, we're on 11, and I'd bet they're thinking about slipping into the top 4 for a smoky shot at the title.

We only have to get there on the day, where we have a 100% record.

This would definitely be in the "Winnable" games column and would really hurt a top 8 rival.

He is only 24, I partied & backed up with no issue back in those days.

Now I’m stuffed for a week but that’s another story 😬
Man one night I did 3 hours of tkd training followed by gym, partied all night, slept/stayed awake from 3am to 7am, drove to Sydney for more training with a grandmaster, drove back to Newcastle, tkd again for 2 hours before another gym session with mates. Bradman can easily beast it.

Ponga didn’t play a particularly tough origin, so he should backup.
Best did a heap of work, and given his leg problems, maybe should be given the week off. Either way, if they’re not 100%, we have enough good options to name.

Surely they back up, end of the day they are professional, elite athletes who would have had 4 days to recover....
I understand your thought process but the “they are pro athletes” carries no weight when you think about it, they still cop injuries (a lot more than the average person), they regularly push themselves to the limit and just got finished playing in the most physical game you can play as a rugby league player.

Your body cares very little that you are a professional athlete, if you push yourself your body will quit and cause injuries, last time we got Best to back up after origin he got injured, that’s not coincidence.

Sounds simple, but the club has screwed up with Bradman before. The players are always going to say they are right to play.

I heard an analogy about this a few weeks ago when NZ rested Kyle Jamieson for the third test vs England, because he’s been out for ages with back problems. It was that you wouldn’t ask a truck driver who’s just done a 12 hour shift to immediately go back out on the road because we really need you. No idea what the workload management would be like in an NRL team, but I’d be inclined to rest Best at least.
