NRL Round 18 - Knights Vs Dolphins - 4:05pm Sunday, 5th of July - McDonald Jones Stadium

It’s about what it represents, we also struggled like this against last in the league and Parra.

You can’t keep playing like this because you won’t keep winning, we got lucky on a few calls tonight.

Until we stop inviting teams back into games we will always be simply making up the numbers
Just enjoy the moment and work on next week's game tomorrow.

Yeah people whinging about that win, get a grip. No Ponga, Best, Saulo, Mooney, J Saf injured early. No teams playing perfect, especially this time of year. Dolphins had a red hot crack and lost.
Was only last year we were running about with Cogger and Gamble in the halves, running last, and playing boring AOB footy. Been a great year and hopefully can keep improving and winning. I’ll take a win any day.

I understand that, but there are few teams in history that are 10/10 every week, we are in a form slump I agree. But 7/8 in a form slump is outstanding. Players recognise we need to improve so I'm backing them to do that

Fascinating how different I perceive the game putting the phone away while watching it. I thought Brown was really good. Best spine player on the field, comfortably. Have none of you watched a tough game between two good teams lately?
Never been a Brown fan , think he could do more , but happy he is here , defence is imense

Mate they had 7 outs... 7!
Sentiments I often see on this forum:

“Grrrr our squad is really thin, stupid Knights, if we get even 1 or 2 injuries we’re cooked!”

“If the other team has more injuries than us we should win easily, we only won by a bit therefore we suck, stupid Knights.”

I think we need to all come together and pick one of the above. They can’t both be true.

Great win. Yes ugly at times but not sure if anyone noticed there were to big dumps of rain the first and second half. We played well the first half. Second half made some errors, but they did also, it was ****ing raining, WET!

Puzzles me every week I hear numb nuts bagging players. Dyl Lucus bombed a try off a grubber by Smith (who is ****house and should be moved on). And got the ball stripped that lead to a try. Should Dyl Lucus be moved on also!

It’s a game of footy! Everyone expects players to be perfect robots. Some of the calls about DB performance are ridiculous. He had a good game. Setup the try for Hunt (who is also **** btw) and kicked a FG to win us the ****ing game.

Just ridiculous some of the calls. Pull your heads in. You know who you are.

He played to the conditions really well. Kicked really well.

This is one of the few teams we’ll play this year who have better outside backs than us (with Bradman out this is true, Averillo is better than Hunt) and who are as good or comparably good at us at long range tries/quick transitions between defence & attack. In fact I would say if we’re missing Ponga too they’re better than us at that stuff, love Fletch but he’s not often arse pulling something out of our own end, he thrives on front foot ball and support play (not a criticism, everyone is different). We didn’t just tuck it and run but on those great opportunities we generate for Gagai and Young we never, ever looked like we were going to beat Herbie. But we also stopped him beating us.

Unusually for us we came in with a game plan to make it a set for set grind, fatigue their middles, control field position, and limit as much as possible any transition opportunities for their strike players, particularly the most dangerous man on the field, Farnworth. Brown did a great job at all of that including coming up with a lot of the biggest defensive plays on Herbie personally.

Losing J Saf was a huge blow to us in the arm wrestle on top of not having Trey, we had to ask for a huge shift from Cody and Crouch on debut (who was very impressive btw), vs a team that is notable for having huge amounts of depth, they are bringing Origin and International reps off their bench. We won the arm wrestle overall despite lacking out best yardage middles. That didn’t happen by accident.

Tough win against a good team where we stuck to the game plan and pulled it out despite some adversity. Are our fans getting spoiled?

Just get off the kids back mate. It benefits no one for you to pronounce the kid gives 1/10 in games. He always gives 100% we haven't had that in Knights colours for years.
How am I on his back?

I never said he gives 1/10. He’s always full of heart and effort.

I said he can have poor moments in his game. He also has brilliant moments in his game. I don’t see how that’s being “on his back”, but if acknowledging both the good and bad in somebodies game is “on their back” I guess I’m guilty.

He showed good character today to bounce back from his game last week. Think he had one of his better games.

All players have good and poor moments in a game.
