NRL Round 17 - Knights Vs Eels - 5:30pm Saturday 29th June - McDonald Jones Stadium

With both teams coming of a bye, the currently 13th placed Knights will play the currently 15th placed Eels.

This is a chance for the Knights to end to their nearly 5 year winning drought against the Eels.

Sounds like you need to remind of how the Knights ambushed the Eels in the 2001 grand final. 🤣

You could also remind them that the Eels have the longest premiership drought in the NRL. 🤣
Ohhhhh I do 😁
Even week to week this year I'm reminding them of where they sit on the ladder. My Monday mornings generally start with a nice friendlyish "that was a close game, don't worry there's always next week" 🤣

You could also ask them how it is possible that a team with a large leagues club, a massive fan base, a very large of juniors and excellent facilities could go 37 years without winning a premiership.

I live in the Parramatta area, I’m surrounded by Eels supporters, some have Eels flags displayed in their windows or on flag polls in front of their houses.

In 2001 I was working in Parramatta and a few the days before the 2001 grand final, when I wore my Knights jersey to work and woman I was in the lift with complained that I should not be wearing my Knights jersey there.

When I was travelling to the 2001 grand final by train a man told his young boy and girl who were fully decked out in Parramatta gear that I was a loser and for them to remember that they went the the grand final the year that the Eels won.

When I was outside the stadium an Eels fan crept up behind me a blew their vuvuzela trumpet in my ear.

Thankfully I now find because of year after year, decade after decade of failed premiership campaigns, the Eels supporters I come across are no longer aggressive. The Eels premiership drought is 15 years longer than ours and they have a wealthy club with a large junior catchment area, they don’t have any good reasons for their lack of success.

The one thing in our favor is the comp is so close. Parra is looking a better side with Gutho and Moses back. Brown is a danger man. Moses backing up from Origin. I'm worried about our 5/8 situation (cogger) and his defense. On last week's performance, I feel he needs to get dropped. Either Crossland or Pryce to six. Surely Pryces defense could not be any worse than Cogger. And there's the hope for attacking upside with Pryce.

To be clear, you are worried about the defence of the guy making 26 tackles a game in firstgrade at 93.4% efficiency so you want to replace him with the guy making 12 tackles a game at 81.5% efficiency in reserve grade?

Cogger is a passenger on the field on both sides of the ball. Offers nothing. Would rather change it up for a guy who has some spark and potential. Give him a shot and see what happens, much like Armstrong.

As you know Billy stats don't always paint a clear picture. You've been watching Cup, and from your comments, you don't seem to be the greatest fan of Pryce. Which is fair enough, but you would agree Cogger should be dropped? And who would you put in to replace him?

I was one of the ones saying no to Pryce few weeks ago. But after past couple weeks where Hastings has stood up and tried to come up with anything to get us a win, but then to get no help from Cogger who couldn't spark a fire in a fuel tank farm. With 6-7 games before KP and Gamble come back, we need another option. So i'm up for putting Pyrce in and saying "**** it, give it all you got" We aren't winning a premiership this yr. Let's be honest, but a solid charge to the finals again would be nice and is still expected.

Love Tuala, but it may be time to give Armstrong for his speed or Moceidreke for speed and height a go. We need an extra point of attack, could come with those two. We've seen how valuable Armstrong and Sharpe's speed has been to us in games so far, Might as well have two out there.

Having Pryce, Armstrong in squad might mean we'd need to outscore more teams the Obi's traditional, High percentage football.

I'm the same, no way to Pryce a few weeks ago, now I don't see the downside compared to Cogger. If he has a good game this week. Consistency is required. Those fantasy points Billy put up earlier showed his best game was round 3, corresponding to playing next to Hastings in reggies. He played a very measured game that day. Combo might work well in firsts.
