NRL Round 15 - Knights Vs Roosters - 5:30pm Saturday 14th June - McDonald Jones Stadium

Can't be mad at the effort by the team and the defence was really good, they hit hard and in numbers almost all game.
We didn't hit Lucas enough in the 2nd half and we should have been setting up plays on the left side a lot more, I have no idea why we didn't and I'm actually going to blame Hastings for calling right.
Not mad just disappointed 😕

I tried my best everyone, last week with the late finish I had a frantic pre-bed shower at halftime ... then we came back and had a magnificent win!

Tried it again this week, and nothing. The lucky halftime shower tradition is officially over.

We had a complete rookie bench, Hunt playing his first game at FB and his 4th in FG...as well as McCarthy and our 6th different halves combo and scoring points has been a problem all season.

I hate losing, but it was only two pieces of Teddy magic that saved the Roosters.
They had just as many rookies as the Knights. They also had way less possession. They found a way to win because they didn’t stop playing

Who seriously tipped the Knights this week? I certainly didn't. It was fun while it lasted, but I didn't have massive expectations of the team that we sent out.

My not watching the game live at home or at the game tradition is also over. After 4 games this year.

I dunno I feel better about the team going forward after that. Besides the experienced guys who stood up like Greg, Dane and Lucas who I guess counts now, a bunch of young blokes who came through our pathways put us in a great position to win against a much more heralded squad. Players who won’t be here next year in Jackson Hastings and Jayden Brailey, who take up a huge amount of the cap, squandered that great position and lost the game for us. That’s a good change from feeling like there’s no hope of an NRL calibre pack emerging from internal development in the coming years. A lot of these kids can play. McEwen caught my eye the most.

2 years I'll have been waiting to see the Knights live from the last time they came here to Perth by the time I see them this time next week. That was part of the magic 10 game run of 2023.

I don't know if I'm looking forward to this game anywhere near as much as I should. I'll have my 9yr old nephew with me, so it's going to be hard if they play rubbish.

For the record, I'm disappointed by today's game, but I'm not angry. There's a lot of inexperience there and I was happy with their efforts. I thought Hastings coming back in gave us some point of difference from what we've shown all season all far. I think Schiller's spot is going to Dom, and I'm not entirely upset at that. Knights 100% should have scored a lot more given the first half, the possession, and how much we were in the attacking positions on the field, but that's the Knights for us. I knew with 10mins to go Roosters were going to score and win the game despite not leading at all up to that point. 2mins later it happened. It's deflating, but I'm not in a $#!+ mood like I very often am after our losses.

Might’ve had a sneaky bet on them… I forgot we had a couple of veterans playing that like to spoil the efforts of others though

ESL and McKewan will both not only play a lot of NRL - they’ll both be stars. One of them will slot straight in the starting side to replace KPP.
Dylan Lucas 235m 34 tackles 0 missed. Crossland was great and added further fuel to my theory his position is lock. I’d have him there next week.
I’m not convinced McCarthy is anything special. He tried hard but that’s about it.
Hunt was great - all effort.
That’s it. That’s all the positives I can think of.

We still had more key positional changes and fewer reps for our rookies. I'm disappointed in the loss, but we were heavy underdogs for a reason. They can build on the effort even if this season is another step closer to being done.
