NRL Round 14 - Knights Vs Storm - 6:00pm Friday, 5th of June - AAMI Park

Can you remember Braddy when he first came into first grade? Hunt is at least comparable with his speed and running power to where Best was, but his defence is degrees better then where Braddy's was. Braddy has developed in to a top defensive centre with experience, Hunt's instincts are already pretty good. And Best's hands were not that great either. There were numerous times Best butchered chances like the first try Hunt iced last night. We have a good player in Hunt, where ever he ends up playing.
I'm more saying I think in the time frame of his development, Winter is possibly already ahead of him for the Centre position, he's more natural in that position, whereas poor ole Hunt hasn't had regular footy in one position for a few years now. I watch plenty of junior footy and I think Winter is the guy next year. Hunt I love and was expecting him to replace MArz when I thought, for sure they'd move him on to free up $$, but turn out Marz is in career form! Ha.

Hunt will be a superb winger and a solid centre, would love to se him get more regular game time, even in Cup, so he can build his skill level.

If someone else does nab the fulltime centre spot, Hunt will be a great depth player, can cover centre, wing and fullback … he’d probably play more weeks than not in that role.

I’m of the opinion that Hunt is developing really well. We know he’s a bit of an athletic freak, but he’s getting more consistent and his ball security is improving every week. I thought he was defensively pretty good last night as well.
Do like how Winter is developing, and maybe by the end of the year he’ll be knocking on the door but I think Hunt is still well ahead of him.

Not going to argue as to whether Winter or Hunt will be Gags replacement next year. Both are young and will come a long way by round 1 next year. A great bit of centre play by Winter as we speak to put Schiller over. I think we are well served to cover Gags exit one way or another. I just wouldn't be writing Hunt off to get that job.

Wasn't looking for an argument if that's how it came across. I'm stoked we have 2-3 great options in Hunt, Winter and Seve. Throw McCarthy in there too if he stays.

Hunt will play regular FG next season anyway, can make his mark on a game in an instant at times for someone who sporadically plays.

I think it's pretty clear hunt will be right centre next year.
Super raw and needs a pre season under his belt. He is clearly a star and makes rookie errors just like best used too at the same age.
If you are an opponent, looking at an edge of young and hunt would be intimidating size and speed wise.
Not to mention a kickers dream. Our right edge could be the best kick option in the comp next year.

Left could just be the best period.

Window truly open, just need to be patient 🥲

Yeh when he gets his contact right hunt seems to wrap the ball and attacker up quite well. Still filling out so will become easier

Sorry, I wasn't suggesting you were looking for an argument, I was more saying they are both great prospects and there is a long way to go before Gags leaves, so no point getting in a back and forth over it

It’s wild to me that no media outlet has spoken about Joe chan knocking out Crossland. The fact that a decoy runner knocked out a defender that’s just shuffling across with the defence isn’t punished.
It’s a can of worms to let that issue slide, what’s to stop decoy runners ‘accidentally’ making contact with a defender and injuring him?

And what would have been the outcome if they scored off that play?

I like the idea that teams will just start sending players out there telling them to not look where they’re running, in the hope they collide with an opposition player and injure them.

Gotta be the lowest percentage tactic imaginable.

His 'accidently' is in quotation marks. I've got a feeling Chan had a bit more control over this situation then some have seen. There was pretty damning footage from behind the Knights line that showed Crossland watching the ball in field and Chan only having eyes for Crossland over ten metres or so and completely blindsided him. Hence, 'accidental'. Melbourne seemed to go back to a lot of dark arts the other night to get under some players skins, the Munster push on Ponga was the only one they got pinged for.

It's a unique situation and the Knights do have form in being guinea pigs in unique situations. Best example is the hip drop that broke DSaf's leg in a trial game a few years back and set back our start to the season. No such thing as a hip drop before that incident, no action taken on that particular one, nrl cracks down on them because of it to the point the game sees it now.

Even the neutrals were saying how the hell was that a clean hit when Crossland was clearly defenceless. Good thing there is the bye next week, you’d be filthy if he missed game time. But still filthy that the Storm scored after when they shouldn’t have had the ball
