Both players not looking, these things can happen. Just bad luck.

Glad to hear it was all precautionary for Crossland.
 
Have to take our chances. Can’t miss those ones against Melbourne even though they aren’t typical Melbourne this year.

I’m sure it was an accident, but that doesn’t change what happened.

Chan runs a decoy line and initiates the contact with defender. Crossland doesn’t “make a defensive decision” to engage. Onus is on Chan to avoid contact.
Not only does he make contact, the contact is shoulder with the head and results in a player being knocked out.

Judiciary deals with mitigating circumstances.

Report and a Penalty would have been adequate.

It’s like Mooney running decoy at Munster and knocking him over - penalty.
