NRL Round 14 - Knights Vs Storm - 6:00pm Friday, 5th of June - AAMI Park

I was on her side for the 2016 final. The other ones I took a bit of joy. But as she reminds me. When was the last time we played in a gf. I still hold on to the fact we’ve never lost one though
Why's she a Storm fan, out of interest? Born there? Must be damn annoying haha.

Our attack looks good from distance, but isn't that great when we're attacking the line. Still think Ponga and Brown should be linking up a bit more. Sometimes Sharpe needs to learn to just take the run, it's his biggest strength after all. I get a large part of his role is to get the ball to Ponga out the back, but he isn't engaging the line at all.

Na born in Sydney but her dad was in the Navy and he was a bears fan. He was stationed in Victoria when Melbourne came into the comp so they followed storm from then. I took a lot of joy out of our wins in 2013 and 2014. Been slim pickings.

Before my father in law died I had him coming to knights games with me. They’d become his second team in the end. My wife likes the knights when the storm aren’t playing them. She was dirty on Munster tonight though for the shots on Ponga 🤣

I thought that was a great game. Melbourne played really well, their attack was humming in our 20. For us to go blow for blow for the full 80, without Phoenix too was outstanding. Shows the belief, resilience and skill in the team.
As I’ve said previous weeks, we just have to know when to have those more conservative sets every now and then. Ponga with 2 bad errors that led to tries. Just can’t do it against the good teams.
Even though there were some contentious calls, both ways, I actually thought Klein did a good job to let the game flow.
Regroup, get better, go knights.

Errors are going to be a factor with how they attack but I think they just need to be a bit smarter with learning when’s a good time to attack, and when it’s best just to compete your sets.

Liked that play on the Storms line with Ponga coming back infield and linking up with Jacob. Would like to see more of Ponga, Brown and Sharpe doing that and using their speed back through the middle. Everyone knows they can attack the edges, mix it up a bit

Hope the silver lining is we make an effort to work on concentration over the by, has gotten worse each week since the last one. Hopefully it's the reality check we need

Ok, it’s a good reason. Storm support begrudgingly approved. 😂

I’m a big Fletcher Hunt fan. I think he’s going to be so valuable to the team. Versatile and seems to be getting bigger every week! I said in an earlier post about him, the errors will reduce but his confidence and effectiveness in attack and defence will get better. Much better.

Anyone know when his contract is up….?
He’s on a development deal this year and goes to Top 30 next year I believe

A lot of our sets when we get down in their 20 actually look a bit clunky. Probably something that needs work too. We’re just so good at scoring from 50m out, so good to watch.

I’ve been in and out and haven’t been able to watch it all. I did get to see the whole Munster dog shot and shirt grabathon though.
This is why we needed the biff. He wouldn’t be such a grub if there were consequences. Pulling a dog shot like that then getting the **** punched out of you for your effort isn’t the best idea. All banning punches has done is make cowards relevant.
The repeated elbows to the face of Gags while on the ground by the Melbourne player was completely missed by nude nut.
Maybe the officials will have a say in who the premiers are this year.
Some really awful officiating tonight.

Our forwards should have dominated Storm but we generally got out muscled by storm

We need something different, thought Francis should have come on instead of cant

Back 5 other than gags were all very ordinary even though stats look decent

15 errors ruined our game, same as last week. We want to go far we need to have about 90 odd percent completion

Penrith or warriors would have smoked us tonight with that many errors

Need next week to rest and re focus otherwise the pack behind us will catch up quickly

As gut wrenching and frustrating as that was, I’m pretty proud of that effort. I genuinely believe we’ve turned a corner and are the real deal this year.

We just really need to cut the basic errors and dumb plays from our game. So many chances to ice that and we lost it because of brain explosions, cheap turnovers of possession and some pretty contentious calls. Going down by two to Melbourne in Melbourne is better than getting pumped by 40 like we usually dish up down there.

Go into the bye, reset, recover and then get ready to belt the almighty farkin’ **** outta the Dragons.
