NRL Round 10 - Knights Vs Dragons - 3:00pm Saturday, 9th of May - WIN Stadium

It’s this 10 min period that Newcastle switch off for that’s a worry. It was enough for Souths to almost win and a better team could. Otherwise a solid showing today. 🙌

It's a pity we couldn't find a spot for Matt McEwen in Ball this year.
Matt is a hooker who is 10kg smaller than Jermaine, but if anything, he takes more angry pills than Jermaine.
I don't think Lantry liked him flaring up time after time - but angry can be good.
I hope we see him get a run next year in Flegg.

I should have pointed out, at this point in 2006 we scored 313 points and we've scored 276 so far this year
Ahhh yes the only time we scored 70 points

25-6, 70-32, 22-26 (I think), 46-22, 54-6 one of the more impressive starts I’ve seen and the warriors loss was just because Joey didn’t play
Played the minor premiers in 2005 eels and high ranked dogs in that stretch as well as the second place in 2005 dragons

Dragons really should have won the comp in 2005 … so to beat them 54-6 away from home was definitely a crazy one!

Yeah they were loaded with talent. Joey humbly credited the forwards for being all over them , similar with the bulldogs game which they led 46-6 before taking their foot off the pedal, was nice to see everyone healthy after the previous year and a few dally m player of the year medals gone begging if it weren’t for injuries (no disrespect to the others)

Watching the game live it looked like we won at a canter. Taking nothing way from the team, they were great, and executed our attack, and defended well. We were also into a decent breeze first half. Good to see us playing and functioning as a team.

Dragons really have no attack, I can’t remember a point in the game where I was worried they were going to threaten something. Val Holmes in particular needs to be put out to pasture. Laughable how much attack we ran at him, and not the 80kg rookie half on the other edge.

Not sure why they didn’t give Manu a run when we were well and truly up. Thought Sandon looked like he struggled with contact, so bit to work on there too. Other than that top notch performance all round.

Find me another game where there isn't at least a 10 minute period where a side doesn't show up on the red bull tracker. I know everyone wants the Knights to completely dominate for 80 minutes and win 50-0 every week - but we need to be realistic. The Dragons are a bad team - but they're a bad NRL team full of professional athletes. It's not realistic to dominate unilaterally - even though that should of course be the attitude the players take onto the field.

To me that graph shows a positive not a negative - momentum was against us for a 10 minute period, and we responded by scoring a try out of nowhere, then another a few minutes later. That's the response you should want

Huge game, huge result, expected but not expected if you know what I mean.
Team played really well, especially first half, our 1-7 all very good. Fwds good but as his big critic I have to say I thought Saulo had his best game so far but it was the backs that starred. The Croker injury and moving Crossland to 13 with Smith to 9 seemed to disjoint us, things didn’t flow the same. Smith looked a little lost almost not interested.
Gags still looks ok but could do with a break, mwas least effective of our 1-7.
