Watching It live It looked like a pretty shot pass to be honest.
If I was Gagai I would have chewed out Ponga for It.
But as I said, Gamble was wide open...

1. Ponga - brilliant and almost did it all himself, will be kicking himself for the execution on that pass to Gagai.
2. Sharpe - great for a kid in his first big game.
3. Gagai - 2nd year in a row there's been a big drop off from him in the finals, not ideal from one of the most experienced leaders.
12. Lucas - went well, always dangerous - will learn from the intercept.
5. Marzhew - unreal end to the season, tested him all night and he answered every time to go with carrying the team with yardage.
6. Cogger - ok with getting Ponga the ball, kicking game not as good as the past few weeks. Overkick for the 7 tackle set was a killer.
7. Crossland - defended well, offers as much as you'd expect from him as a half.
8. Saifiti - had some really good runs but also some typical work in defence.
9. Brailey - solid, mostly stayed out of his own way which is an improvement on recent form.
10. Thompson - like Gagai, another let down when it matters. Got potential but needs to play to it regularly if he's about to get paid.
11. Frizell - always high effort but quiet overall.
22. Pearce-Paul - saw some moments late but think it was more on the Cows defence falling apart. Similar story to Leo, potential but needs to lift.
13. Elliott - solid.
14. Gamble - never a fan of shifting the whole spine around mid game by choice. Thrown in when they needed points which isn't really his role.
15. Hetherington - a couple of impactful runs but the error that led to their first of the second half was a bad one.
16. Croker - tried
17 Jones - tried
Some good signs at the very end of the season but still a step backwards on last year overall IMO, and still some big areas of concern that it doesn’t seem like we’re going to have the money to fix next year at least.
Desperately need at least 1 quality half. Think they’ll be hoping to land Pezet early and put him with Gamble but if not just need to hope we see more of the late season version of Cogger than the early one. In the forwards - assuming DSaf goes and even accounting for a step up from Leo we’re going to be relying on some young props to play roles which history says isn’t always a great bet.

I'm proud of the effort, especially in the first half defensively, but it's just disappointing that we were the better team and lost. Some very bad errors by experienced players. There's good signs there, but we need to improve our attack for next season. You can only hold onto leads for so long without pressuring teams with the ball. Cowboys would have been very comfortable knowing they can come back from that deficit, given we weren't going to threaten enough with the ball.

Dsaf better not be here next year. Replace him with a decent half.
OB - This game shows what the team can do, it's OB's job to get the best or near best from the squad majority of the year. Last season we had to jag a run of wins to make the 8, this year we left our run to the end again. OB needs to get the squad performing to an above average to high level every game. This team is a mature team now, played plenty of finals, is a mature unit now.
No excuses next season for not starting well, and continuing it through the season! If we start poorly again, and we have to sit through rubbish OB pressers where we have to learn how to win games again, I am dead set going to start taking a SACK OB sign to games!

Trouble not much talent in ref ranks, Klein tried to get the roosters back into the game last night, and Sutton refused to ref melbourne in the ruck. I would question why the large ten tonight, was it because O'Brien said he wanted an arm wrestle?
Overall, I didn’t see them winning this game, didn’t think it would even be close but I’m proud of the boys with a few exceptions, on tonight’s effort. A couple of what if moments, KP’s poor pass to DG. If that pass was caught, I think we may have gone on to win. Alas, it was not to be. Another heartbreaking year for all Knights supporters. Just one more point, I don’t see all the fuss about KPP, he offers nothing to this team, especially in attack.

Priority number 1 for the offseason is to sign a quality halfback, closely followed by trying to get rid of DSaf. His defence is not up to first grade standard, he is too big a liability.
Ponga tried hard and needs more support to bring out yhe best in him consistently.
Marzhew was excellent. Lucas and Sharpe were impressive. KKP showed what he can do.

No you wouldn't mate - because if you were Gagai, you'd have enough of a modicum of football sense to understand that the opportunity was created by KP out of nothing. Gamble was 'wide open' because Ponga broke the line out of nothing. And you'd understand that catching a ball at knee level to go 6 ahead in a final, for a professional athlete (remember, you're Gagai in this example, not you), should be expected.
But 'chew him out' into your TV. We lose by 20 if that bloke doesn't play for us tonight.

I’ve always said the knights don’t deserve marquee players because the fans do this sort of thing. Ponga was unreal.
