NFL Thread

sh*t, that's the guy off Letterman. There alot more ruthless over there than in Australia.

until Wade Phillips & Brad Childress was fired it really hasn't happend in the super bowl era (a head coach sacked mid season) ....

The next coaches shown the door will be Tony Sparano (miami), Marvin Lewis (cincinnati), Eric Mangini (cleveland), Chan Gailey (buffalo) & John Fox (carolina)

The next in line for NFL jobs are Urban Meyer (Florida Gators), Chris Petersen (Boise St. Broncos) & New England's O-line/assistant coach Dante Scarnecchia .....

Plus owner of the Titans Bud Adams may sack head coach Jeff Fisher at seasons end over the way he handled Vince Young .... Jerry Jones wants him at the Cowboys ....

****ing hell yeah Jim Harbaugh is now the 49ers head coach.

What a stupid decision to come up with IMO.... To go to the 49ers who IMO will be very luckey to have a winning season next ... 16 games, 9 games or 18 games. Other then the 6 games they play within the NFC West they also play Cowboys, Giants, Eagles, Redskins, Steelers, Ravens, Browns, Bengals, Buccaneers & one team from the NFC North .... They will be luckey to win 7 or 8 games next season.... Harbaugh before he signed with the 49ers his main man at Standford Andrew Luck made the decision to play in his senior year & not put his name into the NFL draft & most likey be the starting QB at Panthers or the Bills next season ..... The Standford team IMO will be ranked 3rd in the NCAA preseason polls & by the time week 5 of next season Standford should be in the top 2 or the top 3 of the BCS rankings ..... With so many starters returning from there Orange Bowl win against the Hookies, This program has a huge chance at BCS national tittle game & Harbaugh was the main reason this program is as good as it is ..... There only tough game next season is at home to Oregon .... IMO his jumped over to the pro ranks a year to early ....

What a win by the Seahawks and what a monster run by Marshawn Lynch!

Good run the best his done in the NFL .... But the Seahawks would be hoping for a Green Bay win so there isn't a trip to the Georgia dome next .... But Jets @ Patriots should be the match of the divisional week!!

  • John Fox has been hired to be the head coach of the Denver Broncos
  • 2010 Heisman trophy winner Cam Newton has entered the NFL draft for 2011 & skips his senior year at Auburn
  • Miami Dolphins are talking to Brad Childress about offensive coordinator job
Childress, who was fired by the Vikings in November, told the newspaper reporters in Minnesota Wednesday that he wasn't certain if he will coach next season or sit out. He is owed $3 million for each of the next two seasons from his Vikings contract if he chooses the latter option.
  • St Louis Rams offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur has been hired by Cleveland Browns to be there next head coach ..... While **** Jauron is being considered for the Browns' defensive coordinator position (both are friends of Browns team president Mike Holmgren from his days in Seattle)

Steelers vs Ravens tomorrow for the third time this season. Should be one heck of a game. Could be arguably the game of the year IMO. I'm backing the Steelers though, obviously.

Patriots vs Jets tomorrow too, right after the Steelers vs Ravens game. Should be interesting. I'm backing the Patriots, though a lot of people see the Jets as having a real shot in this game. They obviously have a shot, though I think it would be a real upset if they were to knock off NE. As much as I hate to say it, I'm pulling for the Jets. If the Steelers get past the Ravens, which I'm expecting they will, they'll have a much better chance of knocking off the Jets than they would the Pats.

Pats/Jets play Monday our time. Packers/Falcons is tommorrow. Well according to ESPN.

Steelers/Ravens game depends on what you like. Could easily turn into a 10-7 defensive struggle.

My bad. You're right. Pats vs Jets play Monday. Thought ESPN was showing the game directly after Steelers vs Ravens for some reason. That wouldn't make sense though.

But yeah, Steelers vs Ravens will be a real arm wrestle and I can't see either team scoring many points. I think the Steelers defence can shut down the Ravens offense easily, and I'm not expecting the Steelers to put a whole lot of points on the board either, but their offense as of late has drastically improved. Hopefully the week off helped them progress in terms of working on the little things they need to improve on to be a more efficient offense.

Green Bay by far is the form team in the NFC ..... The past 4 weeks they've played awesome football & remember not to last weeks wildcard game at Philadelphia they had no rushing game being one dimensional since Ryan Grant went down .....

New England should beat New York all over the park on both sides of the ball .... Seattle plays like they did against the Saints, may be a win at solider field against Chicago may happend ....

I'm going with the safe bet for super bowl Patriots Vs. Packers

I'm thinking a Steelers vs Packers Superbowl is on the cards, which would be one hell of a game. First things first though...

Steelers vs Jets. I'm predicting a Steelers win here as I think they're the better team, but the Jets did play very well against the Patriots. It's gonna be a tough game. At the end of the day the Steelers match up well against the Jets though. The Jets are a running team and the Steelers greatest strength is stopping the run. If the Jets can't get some resemblence of a running game their offense is really gonna struggle. They have a young QB in Sanchez who hasn't proven anything to me yet. I still don't think he has the keys to that offense and I still don't believe he can win the big game or put the team on his back when he's playing on the big stage and come away with the clutch play/drive to win the game. Mark me down as a non-believer. Don't get me wrong, he's very solid, he's just not a big game QB just yet. If their defence and ST's have a big day though, he's really not gonna have to do a whole lot to be in the game at the end and have a chance of winning. I'm going with the Steelers though. Steelers defence > Jets defence and Roethlisberger > Sanchez x 100.

As for Bears vs Packers, I'll be very surprised if the Bears win this one. Packers are hands down the better team IMO. I'll give credit where credits due though... Bears had a very good season. Their offense is greatly improved and their defence played at a high level, but at the end of the day, I just don't think they can hang with the Packers.
