Nathan Ross

No one has put in more effort in recent years.
But clearly, our culture has nothing to do with effort. We have had a massive player turnover in the last three years and it will continue.
I think it has everything to do with effort OR lack there of , We had massive player turn over because the ones we got rid of weren't putting in the effort ..Tariq Simms for instance never put in the effort here that he is at the Dragons ...

Any coach with a record of having dozens of players who don't put in effort for him can find the problem by looking in the mirror.
If 1 player doesn't put in effort it is the player's fault.
If you need to have a 50 or 60 player turnover in 3 years because players aren't putting in for you - it's not the players.

A lot of those players didn't put in long before brown was here that's why its taken so long to get rid of the crap and buy better players

We needed a turn over of the players we had due to multiple reasons.
Aged players on big money was the biggest issue.
Young players not able to find another gear to make it was another.
Players not interested enough to fight for a better result was another.

Heck we are seeing right now with a very talented player in Levi stomping he's feet rather then fighting for it.

For us to be a force, those types don't deserve the money or jumper.

Time to sack the guy mowing the grass I reckon. We've sacked everyone else, including 15 or 20 players and coaches brought in by Brown, and it hasn't made a jot of difference, so by process of elimination, it's now clear that the guy cutting the grass is doing it wrong.

Nope Levi is a talented junior he can do no wrong... deserves his spot for the next 10 years.

Ross doesn't want to leave, but is looking. As a club it is not beneficial to the overall culture to keep players who are not willing to compete for their position! Good luck to Rossy, but taking the easy option is probably best for him and the club.
Not correct mate he said he wants to stay but club has told him to look else where

Sad because he's a legend and was a shining light during the dark times, but as a player although he gave 110% and played very well in 2016/17 he was always a shocker in defence and doesn't really fit the bill for what Brown wants as a winger.

I'd like him to stay but I can see where the club's thinking is.

They've picked Sio over Ross in the end of the day

Moga had no pre season and was rusty as hell.
It will be the same next year.
He was terrible in his games for us so far.
Logic says he should play some reserve grade to get the rust out after what amounts to 18 months since his last good hit out, but Brown will rush him back as soon as he is half fit.

He wasn't that bad, had some dumb moments, but that's part of his game. A part people were trying their best to deny for a while. But he looked good with the ball, massive unit for a centre, he'll be a weapon if we can get him fit.

There was zero excuse for Ross being 10 metres behind his centre when some of those passes where thrown I have zero doubt Mr ego was delibrately having a sulk and trying to make Moga look bad.

Lord you have a very strange way of looking at the world if you genuinely believe that. A professional NRL player decides to tank multiple games for his side as a protest because he is privately disappointed about us signing a centre, that seems like a very beneficial decision that will help a player's career. But we love your conspiracy theories on here so never change.

Billy you oversimplify things. He got rid of the overpaid, old, underperforming crew & replaced them with what was left over, which was juniors & signings from a previous coach. Then he got rid of the juniors that were never gonna make it & replaced them with his own stopgap signings. Year after that he bought a bunch of NRL first-graders to surround any juniors that were good enough. It's been slow, but it's been a gradual process of eliminating the weak & upgrading every year.

Just another episode of Billy’s campaign against Brown.

He has as many tries and line breaks in 3 games as Sione did in half a season. Not a smart player and a crap defender, but everyone knew that going in.

With the history of injuries though I don't think we can plan on having him available much, if at all.

I'd be playing SKD at centre, but Brown doesn't seem to like that idea.

Think you've nailed it there Joshhh. Rebuilding a team and getting the salary cap to a point where we can pounce on marquees when they're available was never going to be done in a couple of seasons.

Every coach since Jesus was in charge of the Israelites has trotted out those clichés when they take over a team.
Brown has had everything he wanted in players and staff and resources for 3 years.
At some point, the buck stops with him.

Would love to see a guy dressed up in the typical Jesus garb with a crown of thorns taking a hitup or smashing a guy in defense...

Sacking everyone isn't coaching. Neither is signing a whole new team. I can't really believe anyone thinks coach brown is getting the most out of the squad as it is.

You're right, sacking isn't coaching, but what was the alternative? The job he was signed for at first was to fix the salary cap. How do you do that? You sack all the overpaid players. Due to the state of the cap, we could only replace them with juniors & signings from previous coach. So then what's the plan? Brown should be able to coach a team with players like Feeney, Bhana, Pauli Pauli, Pat Mat, Mataora to success right? Any coach could do that, it's not like he needs the right cattle to make a good team hey. So the logical next step is to use your new found money to buy better players the following year & get rid of the ones who didn't do the job.

I think a lot of people have been burnt by the 2016-17 years. It would absolute hellfire, I get it don't get me wrong, but it was the fastest way to fix the cap. As a result, we've had a massive money pot available for the last 2 years ready for when someone is willing to take it. So far it's claimed some high profile scalps like Pearce & Ponga. And Billy is right, the buck will now stop with Brown. If he can't lead this side to the finals next year, he's gonna be on very rough ground.
