Nathan Brown discussion

We have gone from real solid in round 1 to really poor 2,3,4,5. This game is a must win if we are to become a contender and it needs to be a season builder if we are going to be a real chance. Clear to see we need to aim up better in pressure.

Our game plans are obviously about trying to build player stamina/endurance rather then playing footy. Clearly seen by lack of line speed, no intensity, poor first contact.

Doesn't even look like we have anything in attack other then block play-ponga cut out.

We win 4 on the trot and it’s only round 9 really. The disappointing thing is we’ve been playing like custard and only losing by a relatively small margin. What will happen is we will go on a run then lose Ponga or something to injury, it’s just what happens to us.

You think we are going to win 4 on the trot?

We couldn't beat Manly, a team widely considered spoon contenders, without their best player, at home in front of a big crowd.

Dreaming.

The season is long. String a few together and your back in the race. Yes I think we can go on a run, simply we aren’t playing the footy we know we can. We’re playing like no hopers and just losing by small margins. We have the personnel just need them to turn up

**** how much of a disappointment will it be if we miss the finals. So much promise. It didn't seem that far off last year. I love all that Browny's done for the club, but it's simply not good enough if we're **** again. There's nothing to excuse it. Every team looks better than us this year.
Mate every man and his dog knows just by watching this team play that we won’t be making the 8. If we do I’ll be absolutely astounded.

We’ve made it very tough for ourselves but it’s not even a quarter of the way through the season. Things can change very, very quickly.

I think that this applies to us in particular. As has been mentioned on here previously, once the attack starts clicking I’m confident we’ll be fine. It could be next week or 2 months down the track. I’m certainly hoping sooner rather than later.

We have been there or thereabouts in every game.
This team could go on a winning streak if something clicked, or even if we just started getting lucky.

I won't vote in the Poll as I don't believe the option I would choose is there. I don't believe we should sack him now, I don't think he should get to the end of the season though. Nor is he not the problem.

I'm giving him 5 more weeks or so to show he can get the team winning, not just one week but consistently showing the correct effort required at this level. Not thereabouts, but there.

If he can't do that, he needs to be moved on mid season to bring in a new coach to give us a better chance next year. And hopefully a shot at avoiding another spoon.

Titans Away
Parra Home
Warriors away
Bulldogs away
St George away
Roosters Home.
Origin Bye

4 out of 6 games away after a run of home games with only 2 points to show for it.

Those first 4 are the critical ones for points and confidence (players and fans) boost. If don’t win 3 out of those 4 then no chance 5 and 6.
Been a few upsets this season so far so might not need quite as many points to make 8.

Deadset had the easiest run of games, we’ve literally pi$$ed them home games away. I wouldn’t even give the team a game plan, work hard show intent and play what you see in front of you. Pearce is killing us the most, I’m sick of hearing get The 5/8 involved. Pearce needs to be touching the ball just about every tackle. The way your best player and half should.

In the past when we've commented how other Coaches have their team going with a lesser roster and time together eg Madge with Tigers there's been a groundswell of support and excuses for Coach Brown. I see Madge jumping up and down, Brennan going off, Bellyache blowing up and then I see our coach with the same look on his dial he's had for 3 years. I don't expect the team to play like the game means something when from the outside looking in the Coach lacks enthusiasm. Maybe he can hire another coach to jump and down for him.

I understand what you're saying, although I don't think there's any lack of motivation from Brown. He's on an ongoing contract rather than fixed-term, so he can be dismissed at any point. He also has some major points to prove regarding his coaching nous. I don't think he has gone through a comprehensive rebuild only to lose motivation at this point. I don't know why the team looks unmotivated, and sounds like Brown doesn't either, but I don't think it's Brown himself who is lacking in motivation.

CEO trying to kill the story is always about them wanting the press to butt out while they look for a new coach.
If there was nothing to see, they'd say nothing and let the press waste their time.
