Nathan Brown discussion

Locky and Ponga are very different players.
Locky was not a great defender. Even at fullback his defence wasn't his strong point, and when he moved to 5/8 he had to be covered for.
Ponga is an excellent defender and would already be one of the best halves in defence, with a lot of improvement still in him. He'll probably be Gidley like in defence in time.

Yeah well you cant just jump in the ring with Ali because you towed up some thailand taxi driver on a no name under card fight.

For all what Ponga could become, he aint fit to tie Lockys boots for him.

locky over rated but still ahead ponga at moment but kid has talent leave him for dust but so did craigie it didnt happen so fingers crossed

I didn't say anything about who was better or not - I said they were very different, and they are.
Locky took years to move to 5/8 and a large part of that was people didn't think he would be up to doing the defence - Ponga is clearly up to doing the defence - it isn't an issue.
Your habit of over simplifying and mis-interpreting things is really annoying.

I get the feeling you have mis-interpreted what 88 meant by his post. Skills or not ponga has to nail fullback for at least 5 years and get too "see" and feel his way into the 6 position.

So your contention is that he wasn't replying to me?
He just quoted me and then wrote something totally unrelated?
Wouldn't surprize me.

What im saying is,
Atm Ponga is a flash in the pan, his had 25 nrl games? Has showed brilliance and has also showed that his still a rookie.
When our whole team is being built around what Ponga could become,
He needs to master what got him here before jumping into another role when he isnt ready.
The clubs season could fall to a heap waiting for Ponga to become something else.

The locky part was a statement of my opinion, not a response to your post.

@rhugh89, can we please get a thread going (or maybe adjust this one) where we can get a vote on the various members thoughts on what the Knights should do with coach Brown? I think it would be a good sample size to see where we are all at. I know on Fox they said a few fans starting to feel nervous and ask questions. I think three options covers it..........a) give him to end of season, let’s see; b) he needs to go now so we can rescue our season; or c) give him the whole year and let’s see how he starts next year once the team has had 12 months to “gel”

Even when we have the ball though we look like a deer in headlights, that has to go back to the coaches.
Dropping the ball when we get the ball back from The missed penalty . That’s all on brown too ? There was some really dumb football played. First 15 you could possibly blame brown for the team not aiming up . Tho the shirt grab from glasby is hardly on brown . But at some point you have to question some of the players coming up with bad mistakes or wrong options .

Just watched the press conference with Brown. He’s good at the press conferences.

Brown is delusional in that presser. Talking about our intensity in the first 4 weeks. We've been playing teams that aren't on their game each week and getting away with close games. Our intensity has not been there at all except for round 1.

When we play one of the contenders we are going to get spanked if we play with week 2-4 intensity.

We have a 900k half, a 700k fullback supposedly worth double that a 800k prop and a bunch of other high paid players.
They're making the errors at the worst times and missed tackles.
I cant blame a coach for the stupid chit that players being paid such huge coin are doing on the field.
The coach probably needs to send a rocket through the team to lift or be in cup for a month.

We look woeful in attack, we are playing one out. We have no intensity. I blame Pearce/Coach
