You can accumalate Dally M points in origin as long as your club played the weekend prior (i.e. you missed a club game due to origin commitments).

So every player has the oppurtunity to play 24 games.

24 Club games (for non-origin players)
23 Club games + 1 origin game (for Cowboys, Sea Eagles, Storm and Titans origin players)
22 Club games + 2 origin games (for broncos, bulldogs, dragons, eels, knights, panthers, rabbitohs, sharks, tigers and warriors origin players)
21 Club games + 3 origin games (for raiders and roosters origin players)

He's much better and didnt have too much discomfort when training, it will need to be broken for him not to play.
