Men’s State of Origin Game 3 2025 - The Blues Vs The Maroons - 8:05pm Wednesday 9th July - Accor Stadium

There is only one thing worse than the Blues being comprehensively beaten by Queensland, and that is Daley not realising that he is part of the problem and quitting as coach and that team for next year needs to be picked on form not reputation.

The NSWRL needs to SACK DALEY NOW!
And please not another media person as Original coach. They are very far removed from the realities of modern coaching, but their egos think otherwise.
At least Billy Slater is a recent retiree and came out of a great system.
And boy, didn’t that show last night!

Interesting stat, of the Blues last 7 fixtures, Moses has played four. All wins. The other three have been losses.

2026 team (allowing for injuries):

1. Ryan Papnehyuzen
2. Brian To’o
3. Latrell Mitchell
4. Stephen Crichton
5. Jacob Kiraz
6. Isaiya Katoa
7. Mitchell Moses (c)

13. Cameron Murray (Cameron McInnes if Murray not fit)
12. Jacob Preston
11. Dylan Lucas
10. Mitchell Barnett
9. Wayde Egan
8. Payne Haas

14. Connor Watson
15. Hudson Young
16. Isaah Yeo
17. Spencer Leniu

18. Bradman Best
You had me up until I saw Hudson Young’s name.

Great club player, complete flop at origin level.

In his defence he always plays out of position and off the bench, I think if you gave him a full series in his preferred position he would be great

Not really married to that one but you need a bench edge forward. Maybe Haumole instead.

Liam Martin ran for a total of 130 metres in 3 games so he’s out of the side altogether for me.

Angus is escaping scrutiny. Last season, he was the best backrower in the game, near impossible to bring down and was offloading in every tackle. This year though, he’s reverted to the form that had the Roosters swapping him for Fifita.

Contract year Crichton is one of the best back rowers ever.

Not sure I agree with all of these as Safe, 50-50 and In The Firing Line:

Martin, Lomax and the whole bench should be In The Firing Line IMO, along with the coach. Cleary should be 50-50, especially if Moses and Katoa are fit and playing well.
Lomax marked safe & Latrell 50/50 momentarily had me wondering if the dude watched the game with a white hood over his head deadset lol. That one tackle on Shiba was far from Lomax's only pathetic effort. The Blues literally only looked dangerous in attack when Latrell got the ball, and he never actually got any good ball.

But then he's redeemed himself by saying Luai "looked like NSW's most dangerous option in attack".

Certified NOT racist, just a loon.

And still no real talk about Daley, who is contracted for next year, even though (and I agree) CODE Sport described NSW as looking like a "badly coached team". They clearly were, and we have to question Bellyache's influence because while Slater pulls a masterstroke in dropping Fotuaika for Papi and bringing in Shiba, Loz plays a bunch of injured players and gives Stefano another shot at another insipid performance.

Now I’ve had a lot and I mean a lot of time to process that loss.

Luai is incredibly overrated and is a media hype job, he has only ever performed in the Panthers system, or outside an incredible halfback like Moses, he is incapable of being the “man” simply just doesn’t have it between the ears.

Cleary is nowhere near the great halfbacks of the game he is also a system player that can’t perform out of it, shown by his no show for the blues and Australia time and time again, I’d rate Moses higher than Cleary as he has actually showed up on those stages as well as club, though for this time I’d go easy on him as it was pretty well reported he was injuried.

Laurie Daley not only should never ever get picked for anything if this magnitude job again but if anyone mentions his name should be fired.

Selectors need an uppercut, who the **** picks Stefano over literally anyone? Keaon should have been in and even Jack Williams over bloody Stefano a player who has actually gone backwards under the Melbourne system.

Luai should never touch the blues jersey again I would have picked bloody Sandon Smith over him, a hype job like Cody Walker who couldn’t cut it at the elite level of the game.

Their is more a lot more to talk about but I don’t want to write down the equivalent of the bible in terms of length so I’ll leave it at that.

Zero Tackle's 5 possible replacements for Laurie Daley as NSW coach *

Unfortunately, 3 of the candidates make the mistake NSW always makes in picking media identities over current professional coaches (Gallen, Ennis, Toovey). I doubt Brad Arthur will take it because he's likely to be either the new Titans or PNG (or the smokey the Knights) coach, and that leaves Holbrook, who is an assistant at the Roosters and was sacked way too early by the Titans.

* Not going to happen as Daley will have to stand down and his self-awareness does not seem to be there, we'll go down again under Loz in 2026 despite NSW likely unbackable favourites.

I shudder at the thought of Gal, Toovey or particularly Ennis in the same postcode as Origin coaching candidates. Besides being empty vessels and egomaniacs, in what universe could they possibly do such an important job?
I am so tired of their one-eyed, bigoted and completely biased reporting / “commentary “ on games where they have previous connections.
Just imagine them at the selection table for Origin!!
That would do it for me!

Sorry, I had to find away around only being able to like it once
