Men’s State of Origin Game 2 2025 - The Blues Vs The Maroons - 8:05pm Wednesday 18th June - Optus Stadium Perth

I’ve been watching Origin since the first game in 1980 and I love it. I have watched many great Origin games over the years.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with a healthy rivalry between the states, as it doesn’t extend things such to illegal play.

My wife normally only sits down and watches 4 games each year, the 3 Origin games and the grand final. She is excited about the game tonight, Origin has been excellent for attracting more people to watch the game.

I think it is a bit harsh on Billy, what he said was incredibly idiotic and very insensitive but I think there is a good coach in there. Yeah he clearly doesn’t handle pressure well but that’s state of origin pressure, about 100 times more intense than regular club pressure.

Don’t forget Slater didn’t have any NRL experience as a head coach he jumped right into Origin as his first major head coaching role which is crazy, so he never felt the sting of the media as a head coach and never built the ability to handle what comes his way in that position in a appropriate manner.

Completely different than when he was a player

I never said Billy wasn't a good coach or potentially a good coach, but SOO pressure or the pressure of following one of the most successful coaches in NRL history is something he's going to have to handle ...and whether the "grub" * accusation was fair or not this week he's struggled which has surprised many.

* I don't like the grub accusation, yeah Slater crossed the line at times, but then so did Lewis, Smith, Johns, Gallen etc, it's a lazy way to diminish great players. And those that say that they changed the rules for Billy have to accept that then logically what he was doing before the rule change was legal... and let's not forget they changed the rules after Gallen put one on Nate Myles in 2013...Gal was only penalised, so not the severe sanction a player in tonight's game would likely cop if he did the same thing.

I don't think NSW needed to give away any of those ruck infringements....I hope they start playing smarter.

This is gonna be one of those games where the blues talk a lot of sh*t than proceed to do stuff all, isn’t it?

🤢. Hammer on to'o all night. Latrell your up mate. Even better if NSW actually come out of the shed. Looks like they took the knights playbook to Perth.

Why is Daley thick as ****? Of course they will target To’o in the air so you ****ing drop Mitchell back instead on the line you switch them.

It’s called strengthening a weakness
