Men’s State of Origin Game 2 2025 - The Blues Vs The Maroons - 8:05pm Wednesday 18th June - Optus Stadium Perth

You know what Katoa to 7 and Burton to 6 for those massive kicks! Ponga couldn't catch a cold let alone one of those bombs

I thought Watson lost us that. He was really bad the last 20mins.
He’s not good enough to play Origin that’s for sure. But the Penrith blokes (current and former) who are meant to be future immortals and never deliver for NSW lost us that one.

One of Gus' best lines tonight broke my brain. "You can't win an origin match in the first 20 minutes, but you can lose it". What?!? But...if you've lost it...haven't the other team won it...in the first 20?

Game 3 you will assume NSW will tighten things up, QLD won't get 9 penalties in the first half, and many 6 again calls from NSW discipline. That is going to cut their scoring chances down.

NSW in the second half showed when playing set for set ball, they are better.

Get the discipline in order and we win game 3.

Just gonna attempt to delve into Gus’ brain….

Think he means that if a team comes out firing and scores 20 points - they still need to complete their work for the next 60 minutes to defend it. GALVIN. They can’t switch off.

Whereas, a team down by 20 points can really struggle to get back into a game. GALVIN. Especially a tight affair like Origin. They need to chance their arm a little bit and play higher risk style. GALVIN.

Maybe not as relevant in the modern day game with 6-agains and penalties that can really help a team get momentum.

Crazy game of footy. For myself the biggest take away was how bad Ponga was. Poor catching and terrible positioning when having the line attacked. He was late to the spot for every try scored.

Not great for us I would say.

suffering the same trajectory as other recent Dally M winners - Hynes, Turbo, Wighton, RTS. Tedesco the exception.

Jahrome Hughes trying his best to break the hoodoo.

Sometimes I wonder how much NRL executives pray for it to go to a decider even though NSW should have won this game. Even if you take out Kleins terrible reffing, then there's Lomax's missed kicks, the errors etc. You don't want (for ratings) and viewership the series to already be decided.

Credit to Kurt Capewell - I didn't think he had that performance in him despite being in good form for the Wahs. Loiero, Cotter, Mann and Collins were all quality as well.

Everyone except Brian To'o thought they'd run over QLD and didn't get off the bus, by the time we switched on it was too late for a comeback. We don't deserve Bizza, in the conversation for best winger of all time.

Stefano should never have been there. Koloamatangi or May would've allowed us to keep King off the bench as opposed to the strange rotation that eventuated.

Will be very disappointed if Lucas doesn't join Game III camp while we're on the bye.

In club football you don't think twice but in Origin/Finals maybe a late season game with playoffs on the line...surely you think about letting someone else take the kick?

In this instance we had Cleary, excellent goal kicker, can kick them as straight as anyone. After a few missed ones (even some which were a bit closer I thought were makeable) surely you give it to Cleary and if he also misses them you live with it.

I thought the reason why they held him off kicking was maybe an injury niggle, nope. ugh you have to be proactive sometimes in such games.

Edit: Apparently Cleary had a groin issue, that may have been what held him back from kicking.

One of the better efforts from Zero Tackle, I agree with most points here.

The penalties NSW gave away in the first half were mostly automatic and on them... Loz needs to bring Keaon or Tyrell in for Stefano, King needs to go back to the bench, and Zak had an off night with kicking that was costly, but he was kicking from the sidelines in tough conditions.

Should learn not to judge. Barely anything said this morning and what was said was about how crap the series had been.
I’m starting to worry that it’s a trap 😂
Sounds like they are not confident of being able to win in Sydney.
