Men’s State of Origin Game 1 2026 - The Blues Vs The Maroons - 8:05pm Wednesday 27th May - Accor Stadium

Setup the first try, scored one, 40/20. He carried that team home. What game did you watch?
How long with only 12? how many plays did he set up? How many times did we have a set of 6 on their line for him to do that what? How many times with only 12 men did he go out wide instead of through the middle? But most of the League community is the same with Cleary “oh he did a few good things must be the best” take the game in 80 minutes and he didn’t do a damn thing, Walker was much better

No Cleary no win , simple

Cleary couldnt get our attack together for like 70 minutes, we were clunky as hell and thats his job, he did win us the game and had some nice moments but he wasnt our best in my opinion

How is he meant to get our attack together when for the first half we dropped the ball from our own half and dropped bombs? Then to start the second half dropped the ball again to start.

Once we started to get field position and held the ball we started to turn the game. Then Ponga got sent off which was always going to turn the game our way.

Cleary can't do much when he is tackling all half.

Yeh you can’t put the poor first half on the halves. To’o and Crichton making simple errors left NSW on the back foot. Only Joey could come up with big plays and dominate a game in those circumstances.

Strange was brilliant one both sides of the ball and Cleary to his credit iced the big moments. It’s a shame Klein is so incompetent though. It certainly takes the shine off the win abit.

Wonder if Ponga will miss some games for this
Sualilis was worse a few years ago so hopefully less than that. If it’s a week or two, three tops, meh I’ll be fine with it

I’ll side with my Ponga/Knights bias a send off may have been a touch harsh maybe a sin bin was more warranted. Anything like that will get pulled up. Can thank the home crowd too.

NSW should have won much sooner (but still got lucky with the send off) if they didn’t butcher a few tries earlier, it’s as if no one was watching Tedesco at all…
