Media is overhyping the Cowboys

Need some context around those wins though.

They beat Dogs (injuries), Storm (2nd string side), Raiders x2, Tigers x 2, Sharks (home), Dogs (home), Panthers (origin period), Roosters away, Souths away.

Got smashed at home by a rubbish Broncos, golden point loss at home to Manly, smashdd at home by the Warriors.

Roosters was probably their only real impressive win.

I also see People diss Cogs & Phoen but I feel Cogs & Phoen provide alot that is not talked about such as stability & defence & hopefully We see more of Cogs running game tomorrow.
 
Not a criticism, just an observation after last weeks game re Cogger - Let me just say I think he needs to get his 5th tackle kick options in the air quite a bit quicker this week....

IMHO he has a very measured and methodical kicking routine and he was VERY lucky not to get collected with ball in hand BEFORE (not even as) he got a few kicks onto the boot last week.... and I've no doubt that this will be highlighted as part of the Cowboys review session in prep for Saturday.

I'm expecting the Cows will be making sure his time is very limited on the 5th tackle kick options on Saturday.

Not an unfair explanation. Even their most recent win v The Storm, Storm were missing half their side.

Tbh I'm not too concerned about their form. The thing that concerns me most is our record in Townsville. In the NRL those type of stats seem to be something of a rule, they persist outside of form and circumstance to some extent and having won 2 in 13 games or 1 in 12 as presented by the media means that we're going to need to be extraordinary to win irrespective of how many games they've won against top 8 teams this season
 
It seems like the Cowboys are a bit like the Knights of 2023 (people argued our streak was beating easy teams mostly) and we are a bit like the Raiders of 2023. Noone giving us a chance but I think we're a good chance of an upset

True, except we were dominant in most of those games even if they were easier teams.
 
I don’t know why people get so bothered by the media’s opinion, it’s just one person’s view, same as everyone on here … except generally ours are a lot better informed lol.

But why does it really matter who they hype and who they don’t? It literally affects nothing.

I feel the same way about people getting upset by commentators. Usually I’m watching closely enough I barely pick up what they’re saying anyway, it’s not important. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Actually the one thing that annoys me is I’m in the process of typing something into the match thread, and they’ll say the same thing before I can post it, so it looks like I just ripped off what Ennis or Cronk just said. 😂

Might’ve been payback for the one that upset Wayne so much the week before. The bunker is truely terrible. I can cop a ref getting a decision wrong on the fly but the bunker get as many looks as they want at every possible angle and still bugger it up half the time.

They also think the Cowboys are a dark horse for the premiership, which they're obviously not if this seasons form and Saturday's game is anything to by...

Moreso this, usually they say there isn't enough evidence to overturn if the ref saw he touched it.

I’ve said it for a long time, restrict the bunker try reviews to grounding, kick offside and the touchline. Very black and white stuff that’s impossible to get wrong. The rest can be judged on-field like it is for the rest of the match.
 
I wish they’d gone ahead with the trial they did years ago. I think it was in Jeremy Smiths last game where they award the try and the players could challenge it if they thought it was the wrong call. Give them 2 a game
