Matt Lodge 🤒

I agree, if I was doing preseason for this side for next year, it would be all about effort areas. Support play, kick chase, covering in defence when the ball has gone past you, that kind of thing. We have enough football in this team that if we get this stuff right, we'll be miles ahead of where we are now.
Basic indicators of how cohesive the playing group is and how much they’re fighting for the cause

I asked Hoops in his weekly Q & A column how likely Lodge was, looks like we are just trying to figure out what Bronco's will kick in. If we get him for under $500k a year we win for mine.

If that is the actual reason then it’s a bigger result than the player not coming in. Goes to show at least some brains are working up there and the broader impact to the dressing room and fans is considered more important than picking up a cheap prop.

Means we still have a spot to fill.
I can't remember when the close off date to fill the top 30 is now. It was July 1st, but I think they moved it back a bit.

Double edged sword ... I can keep supporting the Knights ... but on the other hand, I have to keep supporting the Knights. 😂

Well done Knights on doing the right thing, we don't need his sort at our club, especially in a position we're already well stocked in.

Personally I don’t think Lodge’s history had much to do with it from the club’s perspective. I suspect we and the Broncs simply couldn’t agree how much they’d tip in for his salary for the next few years. After it fell over, the club comes out and says fan backlash was a key reason it didn’t go through. Sure!

Yep for sure. Phil was singing a very different tune before.
