Guess what, on the 4th of March this god forsaken website will be 25 years old!

Anyone have any ideas how we can celebrate?

I have enabled an app version of the site, it doesn’t cost much to put it on the google play store, but the App Store costs $100 US a year. But might still be possible.

I was thinking maybe we should try doing a podcast too?! haha

That’s all I’ve got, so any other ideas welcome.

Not sure if it was right away or later on that I designed the current logo for the site, but I'm honoured it's still there and in use. A little bit of trivia for anyone interested: the logo chosen wasn't even meant to be up for consideration in the first place because I hadn't finished the idea. It was after I'd sent it in that I realised I'd sent it but I figured it wouldn't be chosen anyway so I said nothing..!

Regardless, happy quarter-century to Marathon Stadium!

I’ve always loved the logo so much Nuke! And thank you so much for creating it and letting us use it for all these years. It just gives off that 80s Winfield Cup aesthetic that works so well.

I think you did finish it off at one stage, but it just never looked right to me with the quill added haha.

Before yours we had a revolving door of logos which changed every six months or so, but yours was definitely the one that stood the test of time!

I don't remember that, but my memory is shot these days so I don't doubt you!

Yes, the quill would have been added to a final logo, but also the bottom of what we can see just ... stops. A finished version would have gone to that inner circle line and ended there.

But anyway, it is what it is, and what it is has been in constant use longer than any other logo I've created to date, so thankyou for making that happen, and I am proud to have created something and contributed something for my beloved Knights and Knights community.

Joined on May 22, 2013, I was much lighter and had more hair, but at least I had my footy. have come last in many footy tipping comps, never regretted a day. thankyou Everyone

Oops, missed the actual 25th birthday on 4th of March, I thought it was the 20th for some reason!

Happy 25th birthday!!!

But anyway, thought I’d gradually put up a few screenshots from the internet archive of the early days of the site. This is from 2003 when the site first got its own dot com, moving from geocities before then. No forum at that stage, it was a site with photos saved from all over the internet and scanned from Rugby League Week!

Obviously the sidebar actually worked, but the internet archive hasn’t saved the little images for some reason.

That banner is peak WordArt. Choice of thumbnails or no thumbnails for that 14.4k modem.

I've seen your 2008 join date before and always thought I don't remember you from back then all that much! So that explains it. Well you're a major and much loved part of MS these days Lefty. Sorry if I criticised your posts.

I was thinking that another reason why you don’t remember me from 2008, was that the my username was originally Knightstragic and after a few years everyone who had anything to do with the Knights in their username had to change it so the moderators would not be confused about who was who.

It worked out for the best with me as I am very happy with having Lefty as my username.

Hey James, haven't you said at one point in the early days, you would run multiple usernames and have conversations with yourself on here?

Now thats dedication. But when it came time to retire your alts, did you fake an argument and come in with the Ban hammer? Or do the alts still exist in the members list as legit members?

Hahaha no I never reached that level of insanity! I’ve only ever had the one username on here, but I have wondered about others at times!

I might have been saying how if you go back to the first page it’s just me posting the news every day and getting maybe one reply, it’s quite tragic to see haha.

There’s been a few come and go since then. I miss old Member2299 and Beaumont was as funny as ****. Rhugh89 used to do a lot of good stuff on here too.

Surprisingly I don’t remember that site, because I was around back then of course, but press access!!! Don’t think I’ve ever been contacted by the Knights organisation in all my 25 years of being involved in this place, so you did well on that alone!

I do miss those days where everyone had a personal website dubiously coded in html (not saying yours was dubiously done! haha) and there were news website and fan website that were just a total labour of love. The internet was a nicer place back then.

I really miss Beaumont too, I wonder whatever happened to him! I’ve tried to lure rhugh back since I took over again, but didn’t get a reply. I think he ended up just totally stressed out by the whole thing.
