Mamo & Feeney

Chanels probably played 5 games this year. Round 1 & a few games in NSW Cup on return from injury. If he can't get on the field consistently before his contract ends, I'd ship all 3 of them off, Pat, Pete & Chanel, provided we have other, better options by that point.

I'd try and keep Pete, solid back up winger or centre (if we really needed it). Not too fussed about Chanel and Pat though.

Chanel isn't getting any love!

I really hope he stamps his authority on the starting side next year and is injury free, as there was great competition between both Ross and himself at the start of the year. I just want him to put all of the backs on their toes, because in many situations his finishing can be just as good as Ross and pretty much all of the other backs.

Sione chenal and Pete were reported to be on 1.1 mil combined. So if sione is on 600k and the other 2 on 250k each that = 1.1mil.
Thank Hads and stone for that.

I think you mean Pat not Pete as Pete was only signed this season. I agree on Pat thou anything more than 100k is a waste of money his very much a reserve grader and very unlikely to ever become anything more.

Pete or Pat?

I remember reading somewhere Pete signed here for pretty cheap? So if that's true, I'd happily keep Pete...

Pete, Pat and Chanel are all on fringe player money.
Sione is on big money, but he'd probably get more from most clubs in the NRL if he went on the market.

$750k per year for the brothers not named Pete.

They all get too much at the moment, Sione might be value by 2018.

Just because I was interested

Barnett: 9 games, 125m (8 metres per run), 32 tackles, 3.1 missed per game. 15 offloads, 3 line breaks, 2 tries
Sione at 2nd Row: 5 games, 119m (10.2 metres per run), 31 tackles, 4.2 missed per game. 2 offloads, 0 line breaks, 1 try

You guys are crazy.
We have a group of guys who are paid what they are worth.
The whole "let's sack them all and sign rejects from other clubs for bigger money" is like shooting yourself in the head to get rid of pimples.

All year we have been running down Hodko, Tariq, Stockwell etc etc etc. All guys we bought in from other clubs who have not lived up to expectations.
And according to this forum, the way to fix this is we should do it again about 10 times, because the grass is definitely greener on the other side of that fence.

The only way we will win again is with a side made up of local guys who want to win for more than money.
Signing teams full of mercenaries has never worked and will never work.
It's wishful thinking taken to crazy levels.
Gidley knows this. Brown knows this. The board knows this. They have just spent the last year putting together a young squad to develop into a winning side.
Sacking them all now is about the stupidest thing they could do. Luckily, no one on this forum will get a chance to have a say.

Well Billy Pete is typical of your so called rejects, Tariq never had much of a dig and Stocky can't speak of because of injury rumnours. And fortunately Billy you won't have a say either when Pat and Chanel are moved out.

Billy 18mths ago the brothers signed with the bulldogs, i wish they went,
I LOVE Sione but i can see him fading away within 18mths as well.

As for the young group, as u will already know... we have a great history of watching them play for other clubs by the time they are great players.

No one is saying sack the young guys it's been great to see some many young talented players get a run this year, in fact last year when Stone kept picking the same overpaid plodders each week people were complaining the young guys weren't getting a run so I don't get why you think people want to see those players moved on. What people do want to see is overpaid and over hyped young players who were giving ludacious contracts by Stone and Hagan based on potential not performance, their is no better example of this than Mamo, Randell, Pat and Chanel. You are right about Brown he does realise the mess this practice has left behind and is bringing young guys in to replace these up jumped reserve graders.

All those guys are on fringe/reserve grade money.
The money they are on will only buy guys of similar standard.
According to Toohey, Mamo is on "easily more than Elliot & Pete combined" so that doesn't sound like fringe/reserve grader money. Can't remember exact figures on Randell but he's supposedly on more than he's worth, too.

Edit: correction its Feeney & Elliot, not Pete.

The mind boggles why Randall would be on much. It's not like other clubs would've been lining up in a bidding war when he re-signed with us.

It really proves that Hagan had absolutely no idea how to manage a salary cap.
