Let's be honest its time for our team for 2021!

Keen to see Jones at lock. Think it definitely suits him better than edge back rower. Like Aidos I’m still not convinced by him. Need to see more games and ideally see him have a real impact in a few.
It's not as obvious in firstgrade, but in reserve grade you watch big, experienced forwards run into Jones and they get stopped like they have run into a wall. The same as Sione and guys like Joe Tapine and Marvin Fillipo to name a few - you can just tell that running into them is a bad idea.

I can definitely see that in Sione’s game in the NRL now. His defence is brutal. We don’t have many big hitters that stops players in their tracks. Barney and Sione unless I’m missing some? Keen to see Brodie take his chance and replicate those reserves performances given the chance.

I've seen it said in articles that he is our fastest forward and they have used him at centre, so he must still have the speed at training, but I don't see it.
In reserve grade last year Crossland took an intercept and ran 80 to score. Brodie tried to go with him, but gave up after about 40 metres when Crossland had already left him 10 metres behind. He looked like he was trying to run up a down escalator.
How friggin fun is that!

Interesting that Ma'anaima was selected for the NZ under 15s merit side as a centre alongside Simi Sasagi who was selected as a winger.
The first time I saw him play for the Knights he was selected as a winger and I remember calling him a Manu clone because he was a giant in under 16s I think, and I was really impressed with his speed and power.
Very shortly after that he was playing second row and last year he was switched to prop, but he still has that explosive running style and power. He is like a bigger version of Saulo - but I've never seen him play big minutes, which is something that young props need to be able to do in the lower grades if they have the motor to play any sort of minutes in firstgrade.

Probably with a tape measure and scales ;)
I suspect they do it with a pen and paper - as in, the media guy asks the players how tall they are and how much they weigh.
The trainers probably have the real figures down to the last ounce.
I used to get frustrated that Matt Parsons was always listed as 120kg year after year, despite the fact that you could see him getting fatter every year. After he retired he said he was mostly between 130kg and 140kg, but towards the end he blew out to nearly 150kg.

Sometimes its not the size of the dog in the fight , its the size of the fight in the dog that matters.
