Yeah Laterall Mitchell is the only real freak at the moment. Tedesco has stepped it up a gear. Cook and Ponga. I’ve probably missed some more but the talent is low.

It’s because they make athletes not footballers anymore, these guys are so built now agility has gone out of the game to a certain degree.
Play makers are too structured now as well and they have no ‘footballing personality’ halves back in the day had their signature plays. Langer & Fittler the left foot step, Stuart the long passing game, Daley was a great ball runner, the Johns boys playing razzle dazzle Terry Lamb with his great support play etc
Now a days Cleary and DCE are the top halfbacks in the game but I honestly don’t even know what they do well? Neither have a real good stepmot fend and I wouldn’t class either as great ball players.

Yes 100%. They introduced this in around 08 09 from memory and it's worked as the refs have been around it for the past decade. They see them winning the ruck and allow them to lay. I see a bullsheet tactic.
I watched the 01 grand final last night and if we can even get 20% of that play back the game would be so much more entertaining.

I don't get this signing when we already have Jamie on the books, he seems like a poor mans Jamie, also have Woolford and Levi pushing for the hooker role.

With our team this year I'd expect Buhrer will have to be in the 17 with Griffin not available. At least he can cover backrow and hooker. Mann is really only backline cover, he'd get more 1st gde at the drags than here. Hopefully Woolford is as good as everyone is saying so we don't even have to use Buhrer

Apparently Woolford can play back row as well, so could be an interesting 3 way race in the preseason with Levi, Woolford and Buhrer.

Mann would make sense if we were chasing him as a back up fullback, or in the backline in general. Hooker, no sense at all.

Yeah just because Brown wants to train him up as a hooker doesn't mean he can't play anywhere we need him during the season. He can cover the whole backline & halves. Might be valuable as we have no backup fullback & only 1 half option in Lino, can't afford 2 injuries in the halves at the moment.

We have 4 halves in Ponga , Pearce , Lino and Watson and 2 Fullbacks in Watson and Ponga and Hunt can play f/b as well . So if we sign Mann we will have 5 halves and 4 guys that can play f/b also Brown was going to have Mann train as a hooker but was'nt that before we bought Woolford .
