Knights sign Kurt Mann on a 3 year deal

I have to admit I am puzzled at his signing as well, never been known as the professional/older school mentor Brown goes for when signing his 30 year olds.

Doesn't have much pace anymore either, and even at getting him half price $400k does seem a bit odd.

Jennings isn't gonna be playing reserves if he signs here, sure if he plays like shyte he'll be dropped but it really will be his place to lose.

If we get Jennings I'm thinking we'll go with this, with Jennings and Ramien being locked in at centre.

1. Watson
2. Lee
3. Ramien
4. Jennings
5. SKD

Moga to start the year in reserves to get the rust off and Ross being where he belongs... at the minute.

So Moga is the back up?

Moga was as rusty as hell after not training properly all last preseason.
He's now pretty much missed 2 pre seasons and a season.
They'll have to re teach him what a football looks like.

So Moga is the back up?
Krustykraz answered my question, so pretty much to start with yeah. We'll get injuries anyway. Personally I'd rather Moga over Ross if a wing is vacant sometime next year (that's if we get Jennings).

Have you guys seen modern day wingers? Can you imagine Moga diving in the corner for a try or doing a AFL leap in the air or catching a ball around his toes at pace?

Once Lee is running off a Ponga play or snatching the pill in the corner from a Pearce kick he'll be the first back picked for the next 10 years.

Yes he used to have hands for feet but last year saw him make maybe 2 errors at most.

Lee is about 6"6 as well.

My Moga on the wing comment was tongue in cheek about his ability to hog the ball most times and not even give a thought to his winger.

He has the size to not need to dive in most cases, he can barge over. But I think he lacks the outright pace you want from a winger though.

If we don't sign Jennings or similar type then look to Sione as centre as Moga is very doubtful at this stage despite being ahead of schedule, confidence for him and selection panel will add doubt, hope he makes it back and we have to consider Sione or new signing, Moga or Lee for centre and wing.

Is it just me or is there a real lack of quality forwards in the game?

There isn’t too many. I’m thinking of Petero, Webke type players.

Spot on, you could probably count them on your fingers.
There are plenty of prospects and guys who have a good couple of seasons, but maintaining that form for a decade is certainly uncommon.

Geez I hope the Safiti boys have that in them, if so we'll have a fearsome pack. They're still developing so the jury's out, can't wait to see how they go over the next few seasons

According to some they will "keep developing" until about 28yo when we can finally expect them to have their good years.

Talent across the NRL is pretty thin at the moment if you ask me.

Can you imagine if we dropped 2 more teams?
