Knights possible targets for 2020

Sounded like he had already signed somewhere in the statement

Matterson would be nice...I also still like the idea of Tuala from the cowboys

Knights have targeted two young outside backs.
Quotes from Obi.
"They'll be young outside backs who are looking for an opportunity to get themselves into a system. We should know answers from two of them over the next few weeks."

No idea who they are though.

Maybe the young bloke the Cowboys let go?

Matt Soper-Lawler might be one of them.
He is already training with the squad.
It's hard to tell from photos because they can be an optical illusion because of camera angles, but he looks a lot bigger than the skinny kid he was when playing under 20s for us.
He has scored a lot of tries in Qld cup and did a pre season with Melbourne 2 seasons ago.
He was a fullback when he first joined our under 20s, but Nick Meaney replaced him at fullback after a few games and he moved to the wing and developed a great combination with Brock Lamb. He seemed to be able to read Lamb's mind and popped up exactly where Lamb kicked the ball to.

In Qld cup he has played 67 games for 52 tries. This year he was equal top try scorer for the comp with 23 tries from 23 games. He was voted by fans to be the top winger in Qld cup with 50% of the vote - next best got 27% of the vote.

Toohey said on Twitter we have signed Latham Hutchinson-Walters a rooster U20's centre. We signed him 3 months ago.
His highlights video looks good.

We all talking about Latrell, this kid seems to play a lot like him. Good upper body strength. Is he indigenous or islander...I can't tell

What sort of a contract I wonder? I'd have thought a top 30 spot, but why then no announcement and not named in the squad this week? Are we distancing Obi from the fact he was tipping us in to Roosters players before he had even signed with us? Might depend how old he is too, I haven't seen that anywhere.

I just found him in the Roosters sg ball squad this year, so he isn't first grade ready yet.

This guy and Jake O'Meley - both central coast guys joining us from the Roosters Ball side that won the minor premiership in 2018.
I haven't heard, but it sounds like the Roosters have cut ties with more than just Wyong and have stopped trying to poach all the central coast juniors from us.
The roosters ball side in 2018 won 9 from 9 in the regular season and finished with a +302 differential, so averaged winning by about 35 per game.

I can’t remember who that bloke was that Alex McKinnon absolutely loved and thought was one of the best young centres in the game but if that guy was Lomax from the Dragons (I think it was) then he’s just re-signed for 6 years with an option on that last year with the Dragons. they must think the same too I imagine

I think it was. Good on him and the Drags though. Not a fan of the Dragons, but it's good to see a promising player stick to the club which developed them. Shame for us as Lomax would be a weapon here, but hopefully we can develop our own gun players.
