Cowboyman, what are your thoughts on the strengths and weaknesses of these guys? Personally, i think Tuala has the biggest future out of all of them. As an aside, I went to the Test at McDonald Jones a couple of years ago and Kahu played fb for NZ. He was outstanding defensively. Without him the score would have been a blow out.

Noting the suggestion of RCG potentially being on the market with the Panthers possibly covering part of his salary, if Ese'ese gets a release to the Doggies and we can get RCG at or below Ese'ese's 2020 contract value, is it worth looking at RCG as an experienced upgrade?

With Guerra likely to leave, we're light on experience-wise up front. RCG could be a good fit.

We have too many middles and not enough edge forwards

Tuala in my opinion will be a very good FG centre. In my opinion he was the better all round player then Ramien when they were both tearing up the U20’s. Ramien settled quicker due to his size and strength. Weakness is probably his size. But a couple more off seasons and he will be a very handy player in my opinion, if treated right and played at right centre not left wing like Green did.

GGM strengths and weakness are very obvious. Strengths are his speed and can sniff out a try. Weakness and they are bad ones at that is his discipline on and off the field as well as his defensive decisions.

Kahu is basically nailed on to head to union so wouldn’t bother with him.

Matterson in talks for a release from the Tigers, with Farah retiring and Liddle being injury prone, surely Levi would be a good fit for them?

Matto is exactly what we need in a backrower too, throw in Ese as a sweetener.

Matterson is a gun. Why the split with the Tigers?

I’d give my left nut for him. And we missed out on him last year I believe?

Huge yes from me! Outstanding edge backrower who can play in the middle or in the 6 if required.

Either Ryan or Mitch Aubison would have been my picks from the rooters.

I can't remember where I read it, but I think we turned him down. Maybe it was price, I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure he toured the club but we weren't committed to getting him.

I'd take Matterson over both Capewell and Joel Thompson.
But he might want too much for our cap in 2020.

I'd like matherson and gela-mosby. I remember watching ponga and mosby combine for the cowboys in the aucland 9's - some of the most exciting footy I've ever seen. Hopefully he can work on defence/not dropping the ball.

I like the idea of having one really tall winger who is a good jumper and one real speedster i.e. storm with ado car and vunavalu (spelt wrong?)

Do we really want another player that "falls out with the coach" though? I know hes a gun but I think our culture needs changing more than anything. We seem to have decent players on paper.

Without Bennett to protect him it's been pretty evident Darius should have retired last year. McCollough shouldn't have many dramas picking up a gig elsewhere.

If Milford was on the market at a reasonable price (say 500k - 600k) I wonder if we'd look at him for maybe a 2 year contract.

"Coach Anthony Seibold is set to be given complete freedom to make whatever changes are necessary to get the team back into premiership contention as they look to end a 13-year title drought.

“Darius Boyd will lose captaincy and told he’s free to leave now, Andrew McCullough to be told he’s free to leave now ... Milford to be told he’s on his last chance,” tweeted Seven’s Chris Garry. “All this as Brisbane have the most awkward Mad Monday.”"

Talk that Cody Walker is on a last chance at Souths to deliver in a big match as well. It might be an obvious swap with Milford with both players going to play under the coach that got the best out of them. Otherwise, there might be some movement in the six jerseys, which might see us land one.
