Kalyn Ponga discussion

And the blurb with the article is not that Jenkins needed a kick up the bum and HE was the reason he didn't succeed here! It's quoting him saying if he stayed there, "it would be another sh!t year of footy....Jenkins on his time at the Knights."
There was another one where Cleary gave him some harsh truths maybe not the same story but it was earlier in the year. I think he knows he played his part in not being picked and the issues the Panthers had.
Just had to knuckle down since like he has been.
But that doesn’t excuse the lack of basic communication between coach and player.
I don’t disagree, though respect for handsome Dom for not saying anything that is headline worthy, just happy to be wearing red and blue again. That’s all we want to hear as fans!

To bring it slightly back on topic, Ponga’s comments about how much happier everyone is this year and how they’ve been given a licence to play to their strengths say it all, as well.
Sometimes the simplest things are the most accurate.
Even Baz was saying it last week though I find it amusing he had no idea it was going on or alluding that knew a bit more and wanted fans to be reassured that a deal would get done?

It’s pretty staggering that AOB would drop a player and not utter a single word to them. Surely an explanation on the thinking and list of things to work on is the way to go about it?!

No wonder everyone is so much happier this year.
Yeah the more I hear about AOB, the more baffled I am that they held onto that sour sack for so long. They looked miserable at the time and by the sounds of it, it’s because they were

Anyway glad Holbrook is here and it’s such a refreshing change to see them all so happy, energetic and engaged.

Have to love how the Knights signing KP just immediately turns into people assuming we now are going to lose a whole heap of players.

Why? They all fit under the cap now. The cap will go up and it doesn’t sound like KPs getting any more money. If the cap goes up as much they’re suggesting KP and Browns deals won’t even be that high compared to what others will get.

Why is that the Knights can only have 2 good players but there’s other teams much more stacked with high end talent than the Knights and yet they manage to keep them all.

Yep great work Ponga and Knights. Braith and Bullfrog Ritchie will be having a panic attack right now. Time to run the Cleary to PNG stories once a week now, 😆.
Maybe they knew something already the other day considering Fox League started a Nathan and Ivan Cleary to the Roosters rumour lol

Great news!!

He seems really happy and it’s great work by the club to get his done quietly and early.

Any chance this means we’ll never have to see another KP leaving article.

He’s been here since 2018, and only come off contract once. He’ll have been here 13 years by the end of 2030.
If we don’t include a few Cowboys games, he will essentially be a one club player. So the guy they’ve made out to be a gun for hire is actually one of the most loyal in the game as it turns out lol

Now to win a comp!
Well fancy that.
Many on here had him gone numerous times.
He never once said he wanted to leave.
A really great win against the click bait crap media!
Now for that premiership!

Well, he isn't going to say mid contract he wants to leave!

He would just not say anything and come contract time, negotiate and leave.

Glad he is staying though. X factor secured.

apparently he took a pay cut this contract too. He is on 1.2m with a ratchet clause. But it will allow the club to keep some guys. Such great news people.

Fantastic news and a great result for the club.

Also explains why the club is so keen to make sharpe work as a 5/8 if this long term commitment has been on the cards.

Reckon Sandon won't see out his contract, he's too good as a half to be coming off the bench i when everyone is fit.

You will see Crossland move to 13 full time and then hagan come in off the bench with smith at starting 9 I’d say. Thats coming

While I think Sandon would be a quite crafty and good running 9, would worry about him being able to hold the defensive effort that Phoenix does in the middle
Phoenix is a machine there so Sandon would have to bulk a little and spend a whole pre season working on that defence

Hagan is an elite 9 but he is realistically three seasons away from full time first grade.

Hopefully your source is accurate. Is Marz still going to Perth?
I think he will end go there or PNG. He wants pretty big coin for a winger I’ve heard the club only wants to resign him for a year and naturally he wants a bigger deal. Honestly if I was the club I only pay him for a season because we have Gow and Latu, Nonu, seve coming through. I can see Toby winter playing wing.

He is 29 I think you realistically only get 2 or 3 years out of Greg in the nrl. If he stays it will only be for a year. He reminds me of Lesley vainakolo, if I was Greg I’d go to France get some French crumpets and score a mountain of tries in super league.
