Incredible game plan. Even before the send off they were playing to not let the Panthers get into a rhythm. A stop-start affair suited us even if we were giving away penalties.

Penrith at times were happy to constantly get tackled late or make sure we started as many sets as possible inside the 10, knowing we'd struggle with yardage out of our own end, almost worked.
I'm giving the fanbase a wrap on Holbrook too, I'm convinced we were going to appoint Blake Green until there was an uproar.

I wrote this at about the same time last year. I don’t feel like Nostradamus or anything, but it makes my head spin that the Knights have turned things around so quickly, after the dark days of 2025.
Lol he basically shut down a journo talking about 'finals experience' and said he didn't really care about that and that it's just a narrative, and seems to imply it's how you get your team up both on game day and half time. The team outplayed two coaches heavy on finals experience (and Webster has some under his belt), and will have another challenge in that regard.
They also got on with the job after a tie game against the Warriors, and being down today
He also seemed to not really be that worried about conceding 40 points the last two games knowing the team would be up for finals footy, and the team at times has shown defensive steel resolve. It was refreshing to hear he knew they have to be better each week and try improve and that's probably also why they're in the GF after not resting on their laurels.

We should have figured this out watching Brisbane win the comp last year never being able to put their best spine together for a full game and just sort of redlining their way through it, but all our (and mine) rabbiting on about, gee this would be great experience just getting to a prelim against Penrith, wow imagine how good this team will be when they get all their cattle together - no, **** that. You don't know what things will be like a year from now. There is only the prep you do today and the next game you play on the weekend. The guys you will send out there next week are all super talented, tough, professional athletes you should have enormous amounts of belief in. Play like this might be your only ever shot at it.
Even if they lose next week, this will be the mindset which will give them another chance at it after that.

I said this in 2022. AOB was an imposter and needed to be removed at that time.
We immediately saw the affect he had on the team, they seemed a more committed defensive outfit but went distinctly backwards offensively. They were the finished product about a month into his first season.
If he didn't have Ponga, the world's best player, in his team, he'd have won a couple more spoons.
