The “seeing how the city reacted to both teams winning” comment is hilarious too. They have literally never given a **** about whether the girls win or do a mass onfield suicide up there, if they didn’t get to tack it on to the men’s one the attendance at the women’s victory parade would be zero people. There was barely any more attendance at the NRLW grand final this year, in a game where the Broncos were in the men’s game too, than there was for the 2023 grand final, where neither side was in the NRL one.

And the idea of Scott Prince as an elite coach is laughable, he has a team that is 20+ points better than the next best on paper and was still very lucky to win this year. Before that he likely still had the best team and they kept blowing it, always prepared terribly for both the start of the seasons and finals games. They are not well coached, they play like it’s weekend social touch footy, the roster is just overpowering. All she’ll learn up there is getting overcalled by Tamika and making more errors.

She doesn’t want to win a premiership, she wants to win easily. There’s a difference.

lol yeah 2 whole years without a Premiership must’ve been so hard finishing 3rd. Agree, she wants it the easy way.

Yeah she’s in for a shock if they have another GF win without the guys. Nobody gives a **** about them up there. There stand alone crowds are awful, especially for a capital city

Maybe it’s just stupidity more than malice but still learn a bit of tact for gods sake. You’re not 17 anymore.

Anyway don’t think she has to worry, I’ll be very surprised if it’s actually them that wins the next two comps. Jesse makes a great replacement for Ali but she doesn’t make up for the the 4 they’ve lost. There’s no strike on these left edge now at all. If Upton is hurt, don’t see her and Ali doing a whole heap together

For mine it’s the Roosters to lose next year and I think the Wahs and Sharks a good chance of making the GF as well
 
Yeah it’s funny, ever since this news got out, pretty much everyone, even some Broncos fans has been against it.

These are all people who just want to see the comp do well, they’ve got no other motive.

Frankly the Broncos aren’t playing their part in developing the women’s game. They’re the biggest club in the comp. They’ve got a whole Capital city to themselves and they haven’t developed many young players or promoted the women’s game anywhere near the extent much smaller teams have.

They should be overflowing with young players that go on to fill out other teams. At the moment their team is mostly comprised of older players who’ve been around a long time now. Do they plan to replace them with their own juniors or just poach from smaller clubs?

The Titans, Knights, Dragons, Cowboys, even the Roosters have all developed far more young players than the Broncos. Most of those clubs far less well resourced than the Bronx

The Warriors and Dogs are both doing playing their part now. They’re two clubs with the best standalone crowds

Up until recently the Eels have done a terrible job with their women’s program but seem to be taking it more seriously now.

Will be interesting to see if the comp can level out before the next CBA because if a certain level of balance and competitiveness isn’t maintained this will ultimately be at everyone’s expense.
 
It does make it hard to support the comp when the players act like a bunch of classless bogan divas.

I guess in the end for me, it makes it a positive she’s leaving, along with the other high profile departures of recent years. You don’t want this sort of lack of character at the club.
 
I couldn't understand why Southwell left until I found out she was managed by Anasta. He hates the Knights and has openly said he won't let his clients sign here. Pezet and Southwell are both his fault.

As much as I destest him, the more pragmatic approach would be to get him up to Newcastle and see what they can do to improve things with his organisation. Try to win them over. It's in the best interests of the club.

Given his client is Southwell who presumably had a quite happy experience of winning two premierships here, and he presumably talks to, he should have a pretty good idea already. Some people are just unprofessional eggs.
