Jersey Flegg 2025

10 - 10
Intercept try to Wilson De Courcey - didn't think he was going to get there, but a farcical attempted tackle by Warriors fullback let him score a 90 metre try untouched.

That's halftime.

Game started out terrible with neither side able to complete a set or catch a kick.
It's a bit better now, but not much.
Hilliar and Ayton Hoad off the bench has settled us down a bit.
Sully Hoad, Harley Walker and Haami Loza are going OK.

The Sully hoad try - Loza put up a kick to the wing and Latu was just short of being able to compete, but jumped and waved his arms anyway, which put the Warriors winger off enough to drop it cold, and Hoad picked it up and strolled over.

The De Courcey try - He took an intercept that probably saved a try at our end and was running just fast enough to keep the chasers away - he came to the Warriors fullback and did a David Campese goosestep, which confused the fullback so much he fell on his backside and never got a hand on De Courcey.

18 - 16 after 60

Try to Latu in the corner after a backline spread that caught the warriors short of numbers

18 - 18 fulltime
Williams had a shot at a long range field goal on the siren, but missed.

One observation is that Ayton Hoad looked good when he got involved but was way down on fitness and spent a lot of time not getting to dummy half and wandering around in backplay with hands on hips. He needs to get a lot fitter.

William Bates is huge - he'll be Matt Parsons sized if he keeps growing - but already looks to lack mobility I think, but not as bad as the Saifitis looked at that age.

Williams was much better this week, but Loza was still our best half by a long way.

Harley Walker is our best back at this level. He nearly scored 2 or 3 times with individual efforts.

hooker Aiden Hoad runs from dummy half and scores under the posts - 8 minutes gone

Ayden Hoad did the exact same runs from dummy half from 10 out, but this time he scored a bit wider and the goal was missed

souths score a 60 metre try against the run of play

Loza is doing almost all of our playmaking.
Williams is almost invisable

10-6 at halftime
Both sides are defending well, except for a few lacks efforts from Souths when Hoad caught their marker defence napping

16 - 6
try to Williams off a kick by Loza.

Williams has lost the headgear and now looks identical to Loza, so maybe all that work i thought Loza was doing was half him and half Williams

12 minutes to go
long stoppage for an injured Souths player
Hopwood looks like he's doing the whole game and has done a ton of runs and offloads - pity we don't have stats - he's in everything.

22- 6 with 5 to go
Loza kicked for Williams again, but a souths defender knocked it into whaiapu who scored

28 - 6
Knights defended for 4 or 5 sets on their line with Hopwood working his bum off, then had a great set which resulted in 13 jacob taulani scoring under the posts
