Jackson Hastings

Yeah, just a bit injured, it was broken last year. There's screws in there now that are still causing aggravation it was reported.
the thing with having screws in your leg is you can go weeks with no issue and then wake up one day and struggle with pain because of it. its suprising he didnt opt to have all the hardware removed, which is a common second surgery for athletes.

I’d like to see him improve his general play kicking. While not terrible, I feel like it’s inevitably an end over end, not overly high, not overly deep and our kick chase either is a bit slow getting there or the kick doesn’t give us enough time to get there.
Surely we can get him a copy of Joey’s VHS and footy detailing how to kick a torpedo.

If I was Hastings, I would be getting the hardware taken out of my leg ay the end of the season. It would have to help him with his kicking.

Thanks for that, I was just searching for news on him and couldn’t find anything.

Unfortunately when he went down and didn’t return after halftime I had the same feeling, that that might be the last we see of him.

Yeah the tackle I saw it made both ankles hit each other

I thought Hastings would be a good fit for knights long term
Wish we didn't release Clune
Prefer a gamble and clune partnership than a cogger and gamble

I just got halfway through typing that our halves depth could be very thin next year, but remembered Cogger is coming back. He would be in for a big year.

Am I missing something? Where is it implied in that article that retirement is even in consideration?
“I’ll let people know more at the end of the year. There’s a bit going on there so I don’t really want to give too much away yet.

“It’s no secret that I’ve struggled with it ever since the surgery. The hip drop didn’t help four weeks ago, and then I got a nice whack on it again today.

I was thinking the same. Sounds like a massive leap to me.
I interpreted it as “there’s something pretty serious going on with the leg that I’d love to tell you about, but can’t risk it becoming public knowledge until the season is over, because it could be used against me”.

Seemed a pretty innocuous incident to cause him to be ruled out. Either he wasn’t 100% and the knock just reignited it. Or, as he says, it got him on a screw and maybe triggered a nerve or some pain. If it’s the latter, he probably needs some surgery to address it/remove hardware or adjust screws or something.

Either way, I think his season is done. I don’t think we can carry the risk into any of the other games we may or may not have left. Thankfully Gamble and Mann did very well to cover.
