Melbourne Storm back Greg Inglis out for four months

GREG Inglis will miss the World Club Challenge after being booked in for shoulder surgery today.
Inglis, 20, faces a recovery period of up to four months after a "clunking" noise in his shoulder turned out to be a large tear of the labrum, the cartilage rim of the shoulder joint.
The Melbourne Storm, Queensland and Australian star will have the problem repaired today. Inglis, who started pre-season training on Monday, could also miss the opening rounds of the 2008 season.
Storm hosts New Zealand Warriors in Melbourne in Round 1, a fortnight after its World Club Challenge clash against Leeds in England on February 29.
Storm is expected to play a trial game, most likely against Salford, in the build-up to its clash against Leeds at Elland Rd.
Inglis struggled during a two-lap time-trial of the Tan yesterday.
Billy Slater, Matt Geyer, Anthony Quinn, Steve Turner and Israel Folau also reported to the club on Monday for the first time this pre-season.
Skipper Cameron Smith, Cooper Cronk, Michael Crocker, who is recovering from a double shoulder reconstruction, Ryan Hoffman and Dallas Johnson are due to return next Monday.
New Zealand internationals Jeff Lima and Jeremy Smith are expected back early in the new year.
Geyer is the most likely candidate to fill the five-eighth role Inglis made his own last year.
