- Agreed to terms with Newcastle because he was worried he wouldn't get another chance to come back.
- Reckons he'll become a better footballer under Wayne.
- Says moving to Cronulla was the best decision of his career.
- Was disappointed in his own performance against Penrith.

Exactly. He was made out to be the bad guy in this and he was fully entitled to his legal right not to sign. If anything it's the Sharks fault.

In what possible way is it the Sharks fault that he signed with us?
I think if he agreed to terms with the Sharks that he should have honored his word.

In saying that I'm glad we have him.

They should not have called the press conference until the bottom line had his signiture on it. In legal terms, a word means nothing. Unless he signed, then they would have had a cause of action to say he was a traitor, but they did not. The Sharks jumped the gun and called the press conference before he was signed.

Based on what Kade when (when he was happy with the deal (if it was a good deal) over the phone to his manager) it was certainly not the way Buzz was making out in the DT that he had agreed to terms and it was a done deal, so possibly both the Sharks and the DT could be blamed on this one. Note that no one else reported it from memory anyway. Probably less of the Sharks fault, but maybe threatened by the pending possibility of the Tinkler takeover and hopefully make it out as it was a pretty much done deal in the media to fend off Tinkler's interest.
In the end, Kade wanted to go to the Knights anyway so there's no point of idiots like Buzz bickering over it and completely changing his mind on a player. Lost count of how many times he went on about Brian letting go of guys like Kade, only to do a 180 on that POV hahahaha.
In other words, yeah I agree with the other posters heh, can't believe people were talking up compensation LOL!

Speaking of Kade, his development is coming along nicely, no injury concerns and all atm, very good to see!

I'd imagine until Tinkler made the call Kade had every intention of being at that press conference!

I'm as one eyed as any Knights supporter but blaming the Sharks is absurd IMO and so if he agreed to terms then he agreed to terms!!

Once again I'm happy we have him.

I dont think this is necessarily an issue of fault. If I was in charge of Cronulla, I wouldn't have held a press conference without a signature. Perhaps though, the conference was hastily held to fend off Tinkler.

If the Sharks knew Kade agreed to terms and agreed to a press conference that should've been enough in my book but i suppose some people have different morals to others.

In his interview Kade actually said he wanted to hold off the press conference till after the trials, and the Sharks were really keen to announce it sooner, but I do think it's more of the medias fault. Maybe a bit of his manager (better deal = more commission)

Yeah mate media and managers are known for it I guess!

I'm sure I remember reading at the time that he had never agreed to terms with Cronulla ... why they called the press conference is a bit baffling if that's true ... but they don't have a CEO, so it isn't beyond the realms of possibility that the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

The point I am trying to make is Kade was made out to be the bad guy in this debacle! He did not put pen to paper and so was fully entitled to go to the Knights if he wished. I am not One Eyed, I am being realistic from a legal point of view. If a contract was done orally, then half the politicians would be in prison and the parliament wouldn't have a quorum!

Politicians go back on their word so I guess that makes it ok hey!
Great example!!

What I am saying, if contracts were made on oral agreements and without signatures, you would have our courts filled with law suits. You cannot attack (not that I am saying you are, I just can't find the right word) someone for not wanting to sign after a press-conference was called against his wishes. Maybe he did agree to terms ORALLY, until his signature is on the bottom line, then it means as much as a piece of toilet paper.

Let's distinguish between what is legally right and morally right. Legally, Kade was acting perfectly fine. Morally, it is a bit of an issue. In my opinion, he was wrong (morally) from the facts I have, which in itself is fairly limited, but in saying that definitely glad he's here.

Now let us acknowledge we don't have all the facts. There also seems to be a sense of desperation in Kade's voice. He wanted to come home as I imagine a lot of us have felt at one point in our life.

All in all, I think the Sharks pressured him into a situation (which is the smart move if a billionaire is gunning for your top prop) but Kade wasn't too aware of the situation and thus made a decision prematurely. Not entirely his fault, but he gave them his word before a new catalyst emerged. It was like a game of chess, which the Sharks nearly won, but a desperation move by Bennett saved the Knights.

Twas really only a big story in the daily telegraph, and thats largely due to Rothfield who is a sharks supporter.

Legally nothing wrong with it.

MOrally again, nothing wrong. If it is true that he did, he agreed orally, but while there was one offer on the table. He revaluated it when he was given an opputnity to return home. If your calling it moraaly wrong, then your saying it was morally wrong to want to come home. The fact is you dont announce things until there signed, was poor organisation and running by the sharks management.

The real crime is why the sharks are still in the comp

I don't understand James Bluntus's argument ... people do get taken to court for breaking verbal agreements! This is the real world we're talking about, not politics!

The fact that the Sharks never contested anything says to me that he didn't verbally agree with them.

Exactly!

I was always only talking about the moral issue with it I never mention any legal rites and I agree we don't know 100% what happened.

Ok I'm going to stop going on about this topic now :-)

Once again I'm happy we have him :-)
