Harvey Norman NSW cup

Full game. Skimmed through the tries and it's the Finau and McEwen show as per usual.

Thanks for that.
Not real strong opposition, but nice to see.
Grace Kukutai looked very good, but maybe she was doing it easy against way under NRLW strength opposition.

We play Wentworthville 3pm Saturday at Leichardt Oval for a spot in the GF.
We only lost to them by 2 points a few weeks ago, but I suspect they'll name a much stronger side. Let's hope they get complacent.

Bit annoying that we haven't been able to name a side for this game.
Sadly, the reserve grade game is se down to be played in Sydney at the exact same time as firstgrade is playing in Townsville, and since we need a lot of injury cover for firstgrade, 3 or 4 of the best reserves like Evah, Grace and Jacinta will have to go to Townsville and probably not play.

1. Lucy Spain
2. Isabella Waterman
3. Fane Finau
4. Carissa Reid
5. Jessican Gentle
6. Joeli Morris
7. Melanie Howard (C)
8. Grace Kukutai
9. Leah Ollerton
10. Jacinta Carter
11. Jules Kirkpatrick
12. Elizabeth Montgomery
13. Leilani Ahsam

14. Chelsea Lehman
17. Sienna Limpic
18. Aylah McCullough
19. Tamika Bull

Still a decent starting pack but lost a lot of strike without McEwen and White, will be a big effort if they can pull out a win. 2 outside backs on the bench in McCullough and Bull, they may have just ran out of forwards to pick.

Our only hope is if Wentworthville are thinking about next week and forget to show up.
It happens more often than you would think with inexperienced players.

Outstanding result. Guessing they’ll be without McEwen again for the grand final but should have either White or Tinao if Butler is back.

Dont know what to say about that final 5 mins. Held on to win 20-18 but that reffing looked attrocious. How many chances did Wenty get?

Boilover of the year, but the girls nearly had them a few weeks ago too - but at home with a much stronger side.

Steelers are up 22-0 over Mounties at halftime
Looking at Steelers recent form, they have been winning by big scores for the last few months.
They seem to be the form side - apart from Wenty.

Knights vs Steelers - rematch of the Tarsha Gale Cup grand final from earlier in the year but not much overlap in the squad for the Knights. Indie Bostock was the difference in that game and had a hat trick again today, will be a big task to slow her down.

Caitlin Moran in the halves for the Steelers.

So we lost in the second round of finals in under 17s
Made the GF and lost in under 19s
Have made the GF in reserve grade
Worst we can do in firstgrade is to lose the qualifying final.

Grand final is at 1pm, NRLW finals are at 2pm and 4pm so maybe an overlap again. The 2v3 final last year was the later game but not sure if that's always the case.

Saw in the paper that Jess Gentle played in the winning side in the local soccer GF 6 days before the Wenty game.
I assume she played for us the day before that GF as well.
She must be super fit.

The play by play updates aren't always right, but they say we only used 6 interchanges.
Tamika Bull, who I thought was a small winger, replaced Ollerton at hooker and did a long stint.
All the other interchanges were Kukutai and Carter getting replaced by Simpic and Montgomery at prop, and visa versa,
McCollough didn't get a run.
Lehman, Kirkpatrick and Ahsam didn't get replaced - which means 18 year old lock Ahsam did 70 minutes in the middle.

If those updates are correct, that's pretty amazing.
