Harold Mathews and SG Ball 2026

Big difference to our loss in the gf last year.
The Warriors blew us off the park last year, but they were an amazing side

The official NSWRL MOTM was Kade McKay.

Kade had a great season, but we should remember that Jett McKay, his twin brother, was injured in about round 3 and missed the rest of the season.
Kade plays second row and Jett plays centre, but I can't see any difference in them. Both very athletic and tall.
Older brother Zahn McKay plays in Flegg.

How good! @Billy who are the standouts in Matts for us?
Riley Rostron at 6 has been the best all year.
Kiwi centre Malachi Faavae-Eli is the biggest improver over the season and i'd say he could play in the Ball game later on and not look out of place. He's a big, strong centre with a great step.
All the forwards do a good job and some of them will go on with it - hard to say who.
Ryder Tupou (the 5th of the Tupou family to play for the Knights - son of Anthony) had his best game of the year at fullback, but I suspect the tall, skinny kid will fill out and play in the forwards in a few years.
Makes me feel old that I remember seeing his father as a huge, fat, 20 minute prop at Ball level.

So the last time Matt Lantry coached at the Knights in 2015 he took this side from 7th place to a GF victory in reserve grade.

11 years later he in in the grandfinal of SG Ball, having finished 7th and making it all the way to the GF.

Starts in 5 minutes

A minute in - Butler, Hagan and Bishop take turns punching straight through the middle and then Hagan puts Hill over next to the post.

6-0

6 - 0 after 1.30 sec

Hagan had a great run to put them on the back foot and Beau Hill barged over on the back of quick play the balls,

12 - 0 after 6
Butler under the posts after Knights put on a blitz with fast play the balls and everyone playing like it's SOO

24 - 10
Both their tries we have deliberately dragged them over the line and tried and failed to hold them up - shouldn't have scored either.

24 - 10 at halftime.

The pace has been crazy.
Lantry will have to have a plan to not run out of steam in the second half, but no one has won more GFs than Lantry in recent years.

Chase Butler is killing it in attack and defence,
